This semi-detached cottage near Bassenthwaite sleeps four people in two bedrooms.Dodd is a semi-detached cottage in a small group near Bassenthwaite. The cottage has a double room tucked under the eaves with a gallery overlooking the sitting room, and downstairs, a twin room, shower room, kitchen with dining area and a sitting area. Outside is ample off road parking and shared grounds including a games room and play area. Dodd makes a lovely base for families or couples to enjoy the walking, climbing and touring of this beautiful area.

Amenities: Electric central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, selection of books and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Ample off road parking. Lockable bike storage. Shared lawns and gardens including furniture, BBQ and children's play area. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 1.5 miles, pub 1 mile. Note: Private water and drainage supply. Note: Not suitable for infants or children under 2. Note: Restricted headroom in double bedroom.

Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: Situated just a short distance to the north east of Bassenthwaite Lake is the attractive village of Bassenthwaite itself. This charming settlement retains its traditional, rural feel and boasts a stream which winds through the outskirts of the village in addition to whitewashed Lakeland cottages, a well-maintained green and a real ale inn, full of character. Bassenthwaite Lake offers rolling hillside scenery and remains one of the most picturesque places in England. Points of interest nearby include Mirehouse - a grand home and gardens on the shores of the Lake - Trotters Farm, and Dodd Wood. Most of the attractions of the wider region are within easy driving distance whilst the quieter Northern Fells are almost on the doorstep. The towns of Cockermouth and Keswick and close by and both host weekly markets and a good range of other amenities.

What a lovely break. We had great weather and the Dodd cottage was fantastic. The cottage was very clean and the owners gave us fresh duck eggs to boot. We really enjoyed it
