Very proud to have won a fifth Certificate of Excellence for 2019 celebrating an inviting quiet and snuggly secret hideaway within the beautiful village of Baslow in the heart of the Peak District and only a casual walk away from the historic Chatsworth House and Gardens.

Cosy Corner Cottage is a one bedroom bespoke retreat and is hidden in a quiet corner of Baslow set beneath its gritstone edge offering an opportunity for walking,rock climbing,cycling (bike storage available),sightseeing or just relaxing.

Parking is about 50 yards away from Cosy Corner on a choice of quiet roads and is unlimited and no charges apply.

A 2 minute walk to the local Spar grocery shop for any forgotten provisions allows Cosy Corner to offer all necessities.

Baslow is spoilt by a choice of fine pubs and bars and only a short walk away from Cosy Corner, offering hand crafted beer by a local brewery, to award winning Michelin star restaurants serving fresh, seasonal food using local ingredients.

An evening or daytime stroll to Historic Chatsworth House , Froggats Edge or the beautiful town of Bakewell is a wonderful way to appreciate the scenery and an added photographic opportunity.

So there is no need to drive anywhere with so many attractions literally within walking distance of Cosy Corner Cotttage.

I have found that guests have chosen to book the cottage for Christmas presents and birthday suprises as well as annual holidays or a short break away .Baslow is suitable for any time of the year

Never discount winter in Derbyshire. The fresh cool air, frosts or even snow changes the views to a stunning landscape. A cosy log fire in a choice of pubs completing a perfect end to the day.

I am always contactable but appreciate your privacy. On arrival to the cottage the key is held in a key safe which I confirm all details prior to your stay. Toiletries, washing up products, tea,coffee and towels are in the cottage for your arrival. Leaflets and a welcome folder offer various ideas of places and things to do in the area.

“Relaxing, quiet, well equipped...”

My partner and I stayed at Cosy Corner Cottage over the long Easter weekend - we weren't disappointed. The cottage is beautifully presented and perfectly formed with everything you could need for a long of short stay. Tucked away from the road, the cottage is quiet and comfortable and perfectly situated for all manner of walks and it certainly made a perfect base for us as we spent 4 days exploring the Peak District. Our stay was made even more welcoming by arriving to a little gift from our host of chocolate Easter chicks - perfect with a cup of tea after the journey from London. If we ever find ourselves in the areas again, we'll absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Liz - we enjoyed every moment.

“Perfect Peak District base”

Cosy Corner is a beautiful little cottage in an ideal location. I stayed for a short week and will certainly hope to come back. Made a great base to explore the Peak District and wasn't far from anything. Best of all was the walk to Chatsworth; you're on the estate within 10-15 minutes! Communication with Liz was great from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Really nicely done out cottage. Looks great, clean and definitely cosy!! Liz was great at getting in touch and we really appreciated the little things like the coffee waiting. If you're a couple looking for a place to stay look no further.

Cosy corner cottage is just that -cosy. Tucked away in quiet location with good pubs and restaurants - plenty to do and close to beautiful chatsworth estate. Owner has given attention to detail and created a lovely place to stay . It was lovely to get a txt on arrival day to say that cottage had been prepared for us and having tea / coffee/ milk/ biscuits & even wine on arrival (plus other items) was a lovely touch. The best thing I liked was the location - fantastic scenery and walks and plenty of places of interest. The least thing I liked was going home . Didn't notice any presence of a fish and chip shop but at least there was a spar shop close by which was very handy

I loved Cosy Corner Cottage. It's bright, immaculate and comfortable and everything in Baslow is within easy walking distance. Baslow is a great base to explore too.

This is a superb gem of a cottage for two, with extremely tasteful decor , modern and tasteful . Very comfortable beds and facilities everything one could want down to great filter coffee. We had good weather and would recommend a walk down padley gorge,great lunch at il lupo and the wheatsheaf is extremely good value.

The cottage was perfect for our short break to visit our son at Sheffield University and take in some hill walking. The Cottage is lovely and has been designed and decorated to a very high standard. We will be returning as it is perfect for our needs. Baslow has good places to eat and drink a short walk away.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Liz (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
