Location description from owner

The England region

The New Forest offers all types of activities for all types of people! The obvious reason most people come to the New Forest is to see the outstanding natural beauty and wildlife, but there's lots more to see and do here.

Bashley

There's the many castles or manors in the area to explore as well as the numerous and varied picturesque beaches. You could learn something of the heritage of the New Forest in the many museums and galleries, or wonder round some amazing gardens.Hiring a bike is a good way to discover the Forest and meet the ponies! If you did want to try horse riding there are 2 very well established riding schools very close by. One is on our road and specialises in Western riding. You could ride around the Forest western style, then come back to the cowboy / ranch style yard for a BBQ!There are fantastic golf courses if you're a golfer, particularly Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst and Burley. Just try not to hit a pony on the course!Fishing is excellent in the New Forest with coarse fishing, trout fishing and sea fishing on offer. We have a comprehensive 'What to See and Do' folder in Little Bunty Lodge with a list of special events organised in the area on the dates you visit. There's also a list of the various Eating and Drinking establishments. We also have a guide to walks and cycle-ways in the area that you're free to borrow, as well as a forest map.

“Peaceful and relaxing”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2016

My partner and I had a great time at little bunty lodge. The lodge is much lovelier than you can see in the pictures. Even though it is on a main road we didn't have any issues with traffic noise, in fact it was lovely and peaceful. Even though it is very teeny, there was everything you could need for a long weekend. The shower especially was brilliant! Though I was a tad taken a back by the 6 very large spiders in the bathroom, but I should of expected as much being in the country. The stairs up to the mezzanine floor (bedroom) are extremely steep, more like an angled ladder, so if you aren't hugely mobile this could cause an issue. Easy to get used to though and quite quirky. Loved the mezzanine, very cute and great use of space. The 'Wifi' apparently offered had the worst signal ever and actually we couldn't get any use out of, but oh well! We had a wonderful time investigating the area, new forest and the seaside. There are lots of great pubs near by and we were very lucky to have a couple of sunny days. It would of been nice to sit out in the 'private garden' in the sunshine, but there was a random man sitting there...so we went to the local beer garden instead. I would definitely recommend Little Bunty Lodge.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Little Bunty and I'm so glad you had a good weekend. The wifi is awful at times I agree! and I am in the process of organising hard wired routers which should make the wifi so much better. If you come visit again you can test it for me! Cathy
