Description

RECEPTIVE STRUCUTRE. Oasi del Relax stands on a tufaceous hill within a 90-hectare organic farm estate in the Viterbo Tuscia, an ancient territory in Upper Lazio and the neighbouring areas of Tuscany and Umbria, just a short distance from Orvieto. The villa was built in the '80s with modern architectural criteria that allow you to benefit from the splendid natural surroundings, a quality even more essential today, especially for a vacation home designed as a place of rest and relaxation, and be at peace with yourself and with the world. The spacious, brightly-lit areas and the large windows in the wellness area make it the ideal place for fans of design and modern comforts and of local traditions; the owners in fact, with taste and attention to the choice of materials typical of the area, have inserted wood that predominates in the olive wood floors and in the trusses of the terraces and have also created a perfect fusion between the two oldest and most famous stones of the Tuscia:

RECEPTIVE STRUCUTRE. Oasi del Relax stands on a tufaceous hill within a 90-hectare organic farm estate in the Viterbo Tuscia, an ancient territory in Upper Lazio and the neighbouring areas of Tuscany and Umbria, just a short distance from Orvieto. The villa was built in the '80s with modern architectural criteria that allow you to benefit from the splendid natural surroundings, a quality even more essential today, especially for a vacation home designed as a place of rest and relaxation, and be at peace with yourself and with the world. The spacious, brightly-lit areas and the large windows in the wellness area make it the ideal place for fans of design and modern comforts and of local traditions; the owners in fact, with taste and attention to the choice of materials typical of the area, have inserted wood that predominates in the olive wood floors and in the trusses of the terraces and have also created a perfect fusion between the two oldest and most famous stones of the Tuscia: red tuff for the outer covering and austere grey peperino for the floors. You can easily see how the spell of this natural setting has inspired the name Oasi del Relax (Oasis of Relaxation): the park of centuries-old trees, numerous flower species of rare beauty and expanses of green lawn to walk around in, the tennis court, the gym for fitness fans together with the outdoor pool which seems all one with the house, appearing to almost lean against it, and the wellness area with sauna and a wonderful indoor hydromassage pool where the swish of the running water and the contemplation of the surrounding nature have a relaxing effect on the mind and body. The fertile soil in which the villa is set offers the possibility of wonderful escursions on foot, horseback and bike among long rows of vines, gullies and streams in enchanted landscapes. Its ideal geographical position allows you to get easily and quickly to well-known localities and art centres such as Lake Bolsena, Civita di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Todi; the area is well connected by the A1 motorway which will take you quickly to Florence and Rome. About 50 m behind the house is another building, part of the same property, which is only inhabited for brief periods of the year and whose access is completely independent. The two garden areas are delimited by flower boxes. Services and shops for basic needs, also open on Sunday morning, can be found in Lubriano (4 km).

Location description from manager

The Umbria region

Baschi

We are in the territory of the Tuscia called by the Latins the Land of the Etruscans, which extends over the whole province of Viterbo. The proximity to Rome and to the most important art cities and places of interest in Central Italy, as well as its historical-artistic-natural context, make this area an excellent base for excursions and relaxing activities in a yet unspoilt nature, just as beautiful as that of Umbria-Tuscany with visits to the most important Etruscan-Roman archaeological sites, like those of Tarquinia, Tuscania, Castel d'Asso, Sutri and Ferento. Solitary ancient hamlets of magical atmosphere perched on tufaceous mounds like Civita di Bagnoregio, accessible only on foot along a suspension bridge, founded by the Etruscans 2,500 years ago and numbered among the most beautiful villages in Italy, are visited by tourists from all over the world. The ancient thermal baths of Viterbo, thanks to the area's many hot springs with their water rich in multiple properties, offer well-being and all types of treatment. You can visit places such as the Monster Park of Bomarzo, created in 1500 as “Villa of Wonders”, an artistic and cultural complex unique in the world with large statues and sculptures in peperino integrated perfectly in the nature of the woods; or the numerous lakes suitable for bathing where you can sail and windsurf, such as Lake Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe; or the Cimini Hills, a mountainous area of volcanic origin, and the beautiful protected nature reserves where you can practise various sports such as horseback riding, hiking, walking and mountain biking. Here, too, the typical local cuisine, accompanied by excellent wine, extra-virgin olive oil and homemade cold cuts, offers ancient recipes and authentic dishes that will stimulate even the most demanding palates. A 30-minute drive will take you to Orvieto with its Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, and in less than an hour you will find picturesque little towns such as Todi, Città della Pieve, Pitigliano and Sorano. A little over an hour's drive away are the Lazio beaches of Tarquinia and Montalto di Castro. Thanks to the A1 motorway, you can get to Rome in an hour and a half and to Siena and Florence in two hours, also easily reachable by train from the railway station in Orvieto.
