Location description from owner

The England region

Barton St David is a quiet rural village centrally positioned in Somerset. It is ideally located for visiting National Trust properties with many of their properties within 30 - 45 minutes drive. The most important Trust properties are Montacute House (film location for the TV adaptation of Wolf Hall ), Stourhead (probably the most iconic landscape garden in the UK), Tyntesfield, Tintinhull, Lytes Cary and Barrington Court.

The surrounding roads and pathways provide excellent cycling and walking opportunities in the Somerset countryside.

Slightly further afield, but still within an easy drive is the splendid Georgian architecture of Bath, the bustling commercial city of Bristol with its spectacular redeveloped harbour side, the Jurassic coast including Lyme Regis, Bridport and West Bay ( the location of the ITV drama Broadchurch). It is also perfectly possible to make a day trip to Exmoor, and the North Somerset Coast.
