Self contained self catering cottage accommodation set in the quiet rural Somerset village of Barton St David. TA116DF The cottage looks out onto extensive gardens with distant views of Glastonbury Tor. The accommodation is fully equipped with all facilities including Wifi and laundry facilities. The sleeping arrangements are 1 double bedroom, and a bunk bedded room suitable for 2 children, or one adult

Barton St David is centrally located in Somerset and there is a good range of supermarkets, pubs (most with restaurants) within a short drive.

There are many National Trust properties within a 30 minute drive: Montacute House (location for filming the TV adaptation of Wolf Hall), Stourhead (the iconic landscape garden), Tyntesfield, Tintinhull, Lytes Cary and Barrington Court.

The small city of Wells is close by, with the magnificent Cathedral as the central point of the city, and colourful farmers markets held each Wednesday and Saturday.

Slightly further afield is the World Heritage city of Bath with superb Georgian architecture, and the bustling City of Bristol with an attractive Harbourside area featuring the SS Great Britain.

Access to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast of Dorset is also easy, as is Exmoor and the North Somerset coast.

The Royal Bath and West Showground is close by, where there are frequent agricultural fairs, antique fairs, and many other events.

The cottage is set in lovely walking, and cycling countryside, with many way marked walks and Sustrans cycling routes

Getting around

Because Sleepy Hollow is set off a Drove Road and the village has a limited bus service a car is recommended but not essential. Cycling is excellent and there is a hail and rode bus which can be stopped at the end of the Drove Road.

We are happy to accept up to two well behaved dogs and have a secure paddock in which dogs can run off lead most of the time.

“Peaceful location in lovely gardens near to many National Trust properties”

We received a lovely welcome on arrival from Trev and Cath and were delighted to find one of Cath's home made apple pies in the fridge. The bungalow was comfy and the kitchen area very well equipped. Trev & Cath had also provided a box with local maps and plenty of 'places to visit' leaflets. The surrounding area was lovely and peaceful, almost in the middle of nowhere, which suited us fine. We arrived with plenty of provisions as we knew there wasn't a shop nearby. We would definitely recommend the property as a peaceful relaxing location.

We recently stayed at Sleepy Hollow for 5 nights and loved it. The cottage is cozy, warm and homely. It is equipped with everything you'll need and the location is beautiful. Cathy and Trevor are lovely hosts and Cathy even left a delicious homemade apple pie for us. If anyone is going to this area, I'd highly recommend you stay at Sleepy Hollow.

“An enjoyable holiday in the Somerset countryside”

The cottage was comfortable and well appointed, the landlords were responsive and friendly. We were encouraged to pick apples from the garden and we gathered blackberries from the hedgerows. A memorable holiday - thank you.

How do damage deposits work?
