Location description from owner

The Province of Leinster region

The South East of Ireland is steeped in history and boasts a varied array of breath-taking scenery.

The region comprises of the five counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford and is an evocative patchwork of fertile valleys and plains. Down through the centuries the Celts, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and Normans have passed through these valleys, leaving behind a landscape rich in historical remains. Countless castles, abbeys, fortresses and ancient settlements remain to mark their passage. The five river systems – the Barrow, Blackwater, Nore, Slaney and Suir - criss-cross the South East, meandering under old stone bridges, around magical mountains, through picturesque villages and past neatly thatched cottages before finally entering the sea at scenic, peaceful seaside towns.

The South East has things to do for everyone of all ages and tastes: historic monuments, colourful gardens; well-maintained and sign-posted walking and cycling paths; abundant fishing locations; numerous golf courses, equestrian centres and exciting festivals. all this and we are only a short drive from Ireland's thriving capital city - Dublin!

Barntown

From undulating countryside to rolling waves, Wexford has it all! Rolling rich green fields that blanket the peaceful idyll of rural Wexford slope gently downwards to a golden coast where the soft sand is in a timeless dance with the Irish Sea. County Wexford has been a tourism mecca for Irish people for well over 130 years now!

Elsewhere, the county's towns and villages are busy contemporary centres where historical buildings nod knowingly at modern architecture as locals and visitors alike partake in the rich tapestry of life that is Wexford today.

Hillbrook Farmhouse is situated right in the centre of County Wexford, so all of the county's best known landmarks are only a short distance away.

“Comfortable home from home.”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2016

We were bowled over by this house! The layout was amazing and the space the children had was just fantastic. The day room (at the back of the property) was our favourite! The kitchen has all of your every day needs...along with luxuries, such as a dishwasher and tumble dryer! We're definitely going back next year.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are really glad you enjoyed your stay. You were ideal guests and we would love to welcome you back any time.
