The Walled Garden holiday Cottage is a pretty, self-contained cottage that sits in a quiet, private garden in Barnsdale, in the heart of Rutland. Located just a minute's walk from the banks of Rutland Water, it's perfect for a weekend getaway or longer holiday, ideal for rest and relaxation or for enjoying exciting outdoor pursuits such as cycling, rock climbing, water sports, fishing, walking and bird watching - all of which are on offer on the doorstep.

The cottage has been tastefully furnished and has a large double bedroom with king-size bed, bathroom, dining area, sofa, tv, Wifi and well-equipped, newly refurbished kitchen. We offer self-catering stays. On warm days you can step outside and enjoy the view of a beautiful, tranquil garden that's bursting with animals and wildlife, and immerse yourself in the Rutland countryside.

The Walled Garden Holiday Cottage is located just 3 miles from the pretty market town of Oakham, and 8 miles from the historic market town of Stamford, both of which offer excellent shopping, eating and entertainment opportunities. There are two hotels within a short walking distance from the Walled Garden, both have bars and restaurants.

The Walled Garden is truly a unique place containing everything you need.

We are also ideal for working people needing a base that feels like home while staying in the area. You can cook for yourself in the evening and come and go as you wish.

Why can't I call Charlotte (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Charlotte (the owner) a message.

If Charlotte (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
