A modern, semi-detached cottage in Mickleton near Middleton-in-Teesdales sleeps eight people in four bedrooms with a hot tub in the private enclosed rear garden. Springwater Cottage is a contemporary, semi-detached cottage set on the outskirts of Mickleton near Middleton-in-Teesdale, North Yorkshire. With four bedrooms including two twins which can be converted to super kings on request, plus a king-size double with en-suite shower room and one twin, this cottage can sleep up to eight people. There's also a bathroom and a ground floor cloakroom along with a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside, there is off road parking for three cars plus an enclosed courtyard garden with lawns, furniture and hot tub. Springwater Cottage offers friends and families a wonderful base from which to discover the many delights of this beautiful area.

Town: The small village of Mickleton is situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale, close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton in Teesdale and within a few miles of the market town of Barnard Castle. Mickleton with its traditional stone houses and picturesque views offers two high quality pubs. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep with The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force all close by.

The England region

The Location of the Cottage is within the small village of Mickleton. Situated in the west of County Durham, Mickleton is a rural village with picturesque views across the River Tees. The village is also ideally placed with neighbouring village Middleton-in-Teesdale with its small supermarket and many cafes. The village is only 15 minutes away from the A66 with good roads around the village.

Inside the village of Mickleton are two Pubs the Blacksmiths Arms and the Crown. The Crown boasts an award winning restaurant that caters for small and large parties. The village hall is very active with its events such as the cinema club running on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Other events in the hall include R&B nights and the possibility of hiring for Badminton.

High Force

High Force is a beautiful sight with its 70 foot drop into a plunge pool making it England's highest uninterrupted waterfall. With its surrounding walks along the River Tees and its gift shop its a lovely visit.

Bowes Museum

Based in the local Market town of Barnard Castle the Bowes Museum is a breathtaking building with its artistic design and beautiful gardens. Inside the building exciting exhibitions of fashion, photography and fine art can be found as well as its gift shop and cafe.

Hamsterley Forest

Hamsterley Forest is one of the top attractions in the county attracting around 180,000 visitors a year. The Forests many walking trails and cycling routes are all accessible amongst the forests lush trees. As well as its Walking and cycling routes there are picnic sites, play areas and a cafe as well as its different car parks. Hamsterley Forest also features one of the best Downhill bike tracks in the UK.

Weardale Railway

This iconic railway line stretching through 18.7 miles of the Weardale scenery is a fantastic way to see the views. Different stations have different facilities with the Stanhope Station including a shop and a cafe. The Railway is only open for certain days so be sure to check the times and dates on the website as well as prices.

Eggleston Hall Gardens and Tearoom

The Coach House and Gardens at Eggleston Hall are set in the grounds of the Georgian country house looking over the River Tees. Used as the location for Ladette to Lady the privately owned house has beautiful gardens in which you can view and purchase a variety of plants and flowers and from March Till Christmas the Cafe and tea shop and the Garden room gift shop are open.

Eggleston Abbey

Eggleston Abbey is located just outside of Barnard Castle with its picturesque views over the River Tees. The remains of the Abbey include the 13th century church and a range of living quarters and the grass land is perfect for families and couples and activities such as picnics are ideal.

Raby Castle

Located on the outskirts of the village Staindrop Raby Castle's picturesque landscape and medieval castle are a fantastic visit. Buit in the 14th Century the Castle has a rich history held within the walls for you to discover by guided tours of the halls and chambers. Also found within the vast land including the lakes are deer freely strolling. A visit to the Gardens, Tearoom and the gift shop can round off an enjoyable day out.

Auckland Castle

For Almost 900 years Auckland Castle has been the Palace of the Prince Bishops. With its unique history and grounds Auckland Castle has a large variety of activities for visitors with its Large grounds perfect for a walk with the Deer House, brdges and a fish pond offering a picturesque walk. Inside visitors can view the long dining room and exhibitions where you can view and learn about the rich history. And if you are in need of a rest the Cafes high quality food and drink will more then do.

Locomotion

Locomotion (National Railway Museum) offers a fantastic experience with its spectacular building hosting many fascinating trains spanning the decades. The Museum also hosts a variety of events to interest many. As well as the trains and information a gift shop and cafe can be accessed.
