Couples will enjoy this modern studio apartment in the seaside village of Barna on Galway Bay. Offering table tennis, badminton and a hot tub, this cosy little cottage, with a private deck at the rear, is set in a peaceful, picturesque, Connemara 'Gaeltacht' area on the outskirts of lively Galway city.
We have a library area with books, DVDs, playing cards and board games. Also a Welcome Folder with lots of local info, ‘Things to do’, ‘Places to Visit’ and maps. Golf set available.
Let us know if you require equipment for baby, elderly and disabled (no charge).
Sleeps 2 in open-plan studio arrangement: Double bed/ Kitchen/Sitting. Separate bathroom with instant electric shower and hot towel-rail. Well-equipped kitchen. Large-screen TV/DVD and Wi-fi. Washing machine, fridge, gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric Eco-heater, hair-drier, iron and ironing board. Furnished to high standard.
Private off-road parking. Peaceful setting: you will enjoy the BBQ area and dining outdoors where the only spectators are the cows in the field next door! Play table-tennis on the lower patio and badminton on the front lawn. Book the hot tub for the week (*extra cost – enquire with owner).
The cottage is nestled in a picturesque country setting on the edge of the unspoilt beauty of the boglands of Connemara. Stroll the popular walking route through bog lanes past Lough Inch to Barna Golf Course. A designated 'Gaeltacht' area. Beaches, shops, award-winning restaurants, horse-riding are all within easy reach. Salthill 10 mins drive - offers watersports, funfair, nightclubs. Galway City 15 mins.
RENTAL PERIOD: 16:00 hrs on arrival day (generally Saturday) until 11:00 hrs on departure day.
LINEN: All bed linen is provided and beds are made up.
TOWELS: are provided – 2 per person, hand towels for bathrooms, bath rugs and kitchen tea-towels.
BBQ facilities and utensils provided.

The cottage is furnished to high specification. It is laid out in open plan 'studio' style with double bed. Furnished to high standard. There are wardrobes, bedside lockers and lamps. The kitchen is very well equipped and has gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron, eco-heater etc. Bathroom has instant electric shower. We also provide an array of books. Welcome Folder and maps.

South-facing wooden deck with garden furniture. We provide a BBQ stand and utensils and can purchase disposable charcoal trays on your behalf, to start you off. Bicycles and golf set available - deposit required. Peaceful setting: you will enjoy dining outdoors where the only spectators are the cows in the field next door! The area is a walkers' paradise, through boglands, and many little country laneways. Badminton set for front lawn. Private off-road parking. Tennis courts nearby. Football field across the road. Play golf and pitch-n-putt nearby.

“Excellent stay at Barna Cottage for Two”
The cottage was very clean and modern. In my opinion the cottage was nice. It had a fridge, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, bed linen, towels, tea towels, hair dryer, electric cooker, plates, utensils, wardrobe, TV, Wifi, etc – everything we needed really. The Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful place. It is about 1.5 Km from Barna Village where you find nearby beaches, various shops and Restaurants, a Supermarket and a lovely Hotel (The Twelve). We stayed for a week in this cottage in July 2012. We all had a fabulous time. The hosts, Annette and Carlos, were brilliant and really genuine people, friendly, warm and very helpful anytime with the local guide and some local advice on where to go and what to do. On arrival, they make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a lovely peaceful holiday, away from the bustle of the city centre.
“Everything you could need.”
The fully equipped chalet was perfect for my needs, being clean, cosy and comfortable at the end of a long day's hiking etc. The bathroom was a bit small but still worked well. Great kitchen facilities. The owners would go out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Located in a rural setting, just one mile up the hill from Barna pier, beach and village, it is also only a short drive / bus ride into Galway City or out into the wilds of Connemara. Buses for the ferries to the Aran Islands also pick up in the village. Plus points are that the chalet is quiet and peaceful. Negative points? Hard to think of any!
