THE SPACE

COTTAGE ON THE RIVER BANKS is one of the two true Wooden Chalets situated on the banks of Goa's largest River "Mandovi".

The house has its own wooden jetty and has docking facilities for a small sized yacht.

We have two Internet Providers, Ethernet Xpress 150 Mbps and Gwave 100 Mbps as we want to keep you always connected.

Located near the ancient city of Old Goa and close to the City of Panjim.

Old Goa was the first Capital City of Goa which was first shifted to Panjim due to the Plague centuries ago. The Old Goa Church was the first resting place of the body of St. Francis Xavier when brought to Goa from the Far East where it is preserved till today.

The house is on the river level with unlimited private parking in front. The main road is on a higher level about 4 metres above the river level.

A building on the higher road level which stands between the road and the house isolates any traffic sound from the road which makes it a quiet and peaceful place to stay.

The bus stand is situated on the road above.

COTTAGE ON THE RIVER BANKS is located, just 15 minutes by road to the Panjim Central Bus Terminus which terminus is equidistant from North and South Goa.

There is a soft drink and Liquor store in the adjacent building, and a general store just 5 minutes’ walk from the house.

There is a new Takeaway Restaurant just a minute away next-door and guests have reported that they take orders and deliver food to the house.

Car and bike rental facilities are also available for which information will be provided on confirmation of booking.

The Chalet is fully A.C. and is fitted with all the amenities one can think of and what you would normally like to have in the best equipped home.

Some of the amenities are a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, microwave oven, U.V. filter, clothes washing machine and dryer etc. etc. Besides, the house is fitted with a hydro pneumatic water pressure system giving full pressure on all the water outlets and showers.

There is an in-house convenience store. Please note we try to keep most immediate items to make your arrival stay comfortable till you can organize yourself. There is a minimal charge for this service, and it is handled by the home staff.

The house Lady will come every morning to clean up. Besides, we have all the equipment like dishwashers etc.

The house is differently abled friendly and divided into two levels having a total of four bedrooms.

One bedroom on the ground floor has an attached toilet and bath and opens up into the main hall, kitchen, and river front Patio. This bedroom has advantages for differently abled and Senior citizens.

A second bedroom on the first floor opens onto a spacious wooden deck with deck chairs to relax on with a full view of the river and has attached toilet and bath.

The third bedroom, also on the first floor, opens onto a spacious wooden deck with deck chairs to relax on with a full view of the river. This bedroom shares the toilet and bath with the fourth bedroom next door.

The fourth bedroom has four single or two double beds which can sleep four people. The rest of the bedrooms have one double bed.

The house is designed so that the view of the river and adjacent islands are prominent from every location in the house. The lower bedrooms open onto a paved patio which is on the river edge and has its own wooden jetty projecting into the river.

Barbecue equipment is provided so you can enjoy a barbecue on the stone patio. There is good fishing scope however ardent fisherman should bring their own equipment.

We provide the best quality bed linen and bath towels. Night sheets are provided as night cover as it is not too cold.

Dish T V is installed with all available channels on Tata Sky. We, however, insist that the guest respect the residential locality and keep the sound to a low level.

We have taken great pains to ensure that our guests are comfortable and feel at home.

We give out the house to only one group at a time. There is no live-in-house staff, and the whole house is at your disposal only.

If CAPT. DANIEL LEON (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
