Description

La Casa Curiosa. This house is one of the group of houses and apartments at Los Cortijos. House of 3 floors with 4 bedrooms in summer months and 3 for the rest of the year.
Casa Curiosa is not your typical house. As you enter the house through the arched doorway and see various other curious windows, the arches and passage-ways, you are reminded of hobbit houses and then climbing the stairs to the 1st. floor one is reminded of boats.
There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor with 2 single beds. A shower room and toilet are found in a cave-like room leading off from by the entrance of this room.
The main bedroom lies on the middle floor and has a double bed.
El Palomar is the name of the other bedroom on this floor. It is not suitable for cold or wet weather but is very popular in summer.
The main bathroom is on this floor. The shower is eccentric and very different.
Upstairs is the attic and last bedroom with a double bed low on the ground. The round port-hole

Upstairs is the attic and last bedroom with a double bed low on the ground. The round port-hole window and glass door opening out to a private roof-top terrace hint at boats again.
The kitchen has a 4 - ring gas hob.
The salón has 2 sofas (one of which is a sofa-bed). There is a chimney that looks like an traditional country bread oven.
A window/ door leads into a sun-shaded patio that has a large dining table and long benches.
All in all I think you could call this a funky house! The setting for the finca is rural /beach and the whole area is very beautiful and interesting and of course there is the weather!

Location description from owner

The Costa de la Luz region

The Costa de la Luz is a section of the Andalusian coast in Spain facing the Atlantic; it extends from Tarifa in the south, along the coasts of the Province of Cdiz and the Province of Huelva, to the mouth of the Guadiana River.
The Costa de la Luz is especially noted for the beauty of its protected natural reserves and a number of first-rate natural attractions. Among them are: the Doana National Park, where endangered species, such as the Spanish Imperial Eagle, also known as Adalbert's Eagle (Aquila adalberti), and the Iberian Lynx (Felis pardina), can occasionally be sighted; the picturesque Bay of Cdiz; the steeply-pitched shorelines of the southern section of the Andalusian coastline; the salt marshes of Barbate and the seaside cliffs at La Brea (both within the La Brea y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park); and the sprawling wetlands at the mouths of the rivers Tinto and Odiel, where there is a profusion of water fowl and, in season, other migratory birds, including storks and flamingos.

Barbate

The Costa de la Luz has a rich history that dates back to the twelfth century BCE. Cultural attractions include Baelo Claudia, the well-preserved ruins of a small Roman city; Cape Trafalgar (1.5km away), where, in 1805, in sight of this promontory, the English admiral, Horatio Nelson, defeated a combined French and Spanish fleet.
