Laharandota was thoroughly and thoughtfully restored in 2008 from an existing farm complex built from local stone. Comprising a detached cottage, garage/outbuilding with utilities, an old stone loft/barn (The Studio) and a green house, the property enjoys spectacular views over Dunmanus Bay and the West Cork countryside. Many original features have been retained to create a unique and peaceful atmosphere which compliments the surrounding land and sea. This beautiful detached cottage and barn are nestled on the hillside, surrounded by a large, mature garden with wonderful sea views.
Inside the Cottage there are three bedrooms (with king, twin and single beds), family bathroom and en suite shower room to the master bedroom upstairs. Downstairs there's a large open-plan kitchen/living room with open fire, leather sofa and armchair and eat in kitchen with cosy Rayburn range cooker. To the back of the house is a study with single sofa bed, separate loo and a lovely sun room with sea and garden views and cane seating for up to 6 guests.
The Studio is a separate self-contained unit next to the Cottage. Inside there is a kitchen lounge area with sun room attached with sea views. The sun room has its own en suite shower room and iron day bed with trundle to form a king or twin bedroom. Upstairs is a king bedroom with sea views and en-suite shower room.

Review:
"Now how many Irish cottages come with an outdoor pool? Next to the road but shielded by hedges, it even has sea views! You are at the tip of the strikingly beautiful Sheep's Head peninsula, a paradise for walkers, and we couldn't better poet Seamus Heaney's description: 'Things found clean on their own shapes; water and ground in their extremity.' Laharandota was the house of an artist for many years; it still shows. Everything inside is in the best possible taste and breathes a generous spirit: a wonderful kitchen with big Rayburn stove, art, objets and a fabulous hamper, a claw-foot bath, a glasswalled sun room, nooks, crannies and a rustic fireplace that roars in winter. Next door's studio, often rented to the same party, provides comforts on a reduced scale, but the light, the art, the sea views are the same. Hike a part of the Sheep's Head Way: 'the best walk in Ireland' says Country Walking magazine. Head for the lighthouse, look out for choughs and peregrines. Shops and restaurants are a short drive away, lovely Bantry Town and sandy Barleycove beach are not much further. Inspirational."
