“A perfect home away from home”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2018

We stayed five days at Orchard Cottage. September 23 through September 27. It is a lovely, quaint cottage that has everything you need to self-cater your holiday. Malcom was an amazing host who went above and beyond the call of duty when he offered to cook in his oven, a roast and fixings that I had prepared such that we could serve another couple who was to join us for dinner one evening. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area. We loved also that it is close to Bangor, Newtownards, Donaghadee and Belfast. A great holiday rental for sure.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind words Rochelle. Hope you and Steve enjoy the rest of your time in NI. Best wishes Malcolm

“Great countryside retreat”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2018

Orchard cottage occupies a great position which allows you to drive to various locations including Bangor itself, as well as attractions like Mount Stewart, which is a must see. We travelled into Belfast a couple of times lots of great eateries to suit all pockets and plenty to keep you occupied. Overall we would recommend staying here as It is tranquil, but is in a great location to explore County Down and the Strangford loch area.

“Delightful, peaceful retreat”

Reviewed 6 May 2017

Karon and Malcolm made sure we had a lovey stay in Orchard Cottage. Their dogs made our dog feel at home too. We had great recommendations for beach walks and the beautiful Mount Stewart gardens that we might not have visited. This was a lovely place to come back to after busy days walking and being with family. We saw a badger shuffling in the long grass close to the cottage and if we wanted shops they were 5 minutes away in the car. A delightful 5 near Belfast.

“Fantastic cottage in beautiful location”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2017

We stayed here between Xmas and New Year as were visiting friends and family but wanted our own space, and to have our puppy with us. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and fully equipped with thoughtful wee touches that top it off. The location is perfect as a base for Bangor and other nearby towns, and provides many beautiful walks for exploring. Karon couldn't do enough for us, and was on hand if need be without being intrusive. We would definitely book the cottage again and recommend it as a wee home from home should you need.
