“An excellent vacation property. Ideal base for touring the Mourne area and further afield....”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2016

Fernhill Lodge is a fine and spacious vacation property, maintained to a high standard. What do I recall most as I write this review? I think it is the early morning views across the rolling countryside with the Mourne mountains in the distance. We were fortunate to have dry and sunny weather for a week-long break in mid March. The countryside of County Down and the coastal areas afforded many enjoyable day trips. The property has been well maintained and all furniture, fittings and kitchen equipment are of a high standard. On our arrival, the house was very clean and well presented! Pat, the owner, is a considerate and helpful host, guiding us and advising us on the local amenities as well as things to do and see further afield, including Belfast and beyond. The provided scones, with jam and cream, were very much appreciated with a cup of tea on our arrival. Based on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Thanks George, for taking the time to post a review on your recent visit to Fernhill Lodge. We are glad that you enjoyed the stay. We hope to see you in the future. Kind Regards Pat Tumilty

“Great family holiday house”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2015

The house was very clean, comfortable and well prepared for our arrival. Pat was very welcoming and immediately available in the case of any requests. The kitchen is well equipped and also has store cupboard items available. The games room was a hit with our kids. Location was great for us, rural and the garden was safe for the little children. TV & wifi easy to use although we hardly used as out and about so much. The view and the proximity to the Mourne mountains is fantastic. Great local supermarket in Rathfriland (3 miles) for quick and tasty 'homemade' holiday food, pies, curries, picnic food, puddings and much more, just ready to heat and eat. We are very likely to use Fernhill Lodge again.

“very good holidays during 12 days with sun”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2014

We were staying twelve days in the marvellous house near the Mournes We were coming from France, two persons from south (Toulouse) and two persons from North (Picardie) This sweet home is very comfortable, and we recommend it for everybody liking calm, comfort, and space

“stunning the bungalow was well equipped & clean”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2012

It was nice to be met in Banbridge and shown to the holiday let .Normally you have to find your own way there. On arrival Pat put the kettle on to make a drink whilst he showed us round and explaind the heating etc.The property was not far from Banbridge which was great as we had family in the town.We were told that pat was only a phone call away if we had any problems. The bed was very comfortable,The power shower was exelent.Iwould certainly like to book there again without a doubt.

“Few complaints and would come back again”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2011

From the first contact by phone, the experience was friendly and welcoming but business-like. The property was exactly as described and seen in the photos. We were never hassled once we arrived and the owner was happy to meet us when it suited us all, he did not insist on seeing us on arrival which meant we were not rushed to get there and were able to visit family first. We made sure we kept in touch. The comfort was excellent and the place to be especially if you waned to relax. Certainly we would return. Downside. The games room is not what it suggests and there is only Freeview on the TV, not full Sky. If you are just relaxing and not travelling around a lot you might at least want the Sky. Must have a car.
