Enjoy everything the Smoky Mountains have to offer during your stay at 'Summit Splendor!' This 2-story vacation rental cabin offers 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Lynn Lowry. With room for 10 guests, this cabin in Balsam is great for large groups and multiple families looking to experience the best of Western North Carolina before returning to sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch.

'Summit Splendor' sits on a ridgeline approximately 4,000 feet above sea level and offers the best mountain views from the covered porch! Pour yourself a refreshing glass of lemonade and sit in the rocking chairs while you feel the fresh mountain breeze ruffle through your hair.

The incredible views aren't just available outside. A spacious sunroom offers incredible views of the forest and mountains, as well as comfortable seating for your whole group!

On brisk evenings, toss a few logs on the wood-burning fireplace to get the chill out of the air! Turn on the 40" flat-screen TV to watch your favorite shows or a family-friendly movie while you relax after a long day outside! During this downtime, use the wireless internet access to book a dinner reservation at the Balsam Mountain Inn - a historic inn with fantastic dining options.

Head into the fully equipped kitchen to whip up everyone's favorite recipes. Stop by Barber Orchards Fruit Stand to buy some fresh apples to go along with all of your meals. Any barbecue enthusiasts in your travel group will want to use the gas grill outside to make a tangy Carolina barbecue dish!

For dessert, walk down to the fire pit to roast marshmallows and tell campfire stories. There's no better way to end the evening than watching the sun dip below the mountains in the distance!

When it's time to retire for the night, head into any of the bedrooms to rest up for another day of activities. Two lucky guests can claim the king bed in the master bedroom while the other 4 bedrooms either have twin beds, full beds, or queen beds.

More aquatic adventures await on the Nantahala River. Book a whitewater rafting trip for an unforgettable afternoon. For those who'd like to take it a bit slower out on the water, head 30 minutes to Deep Creek Campground for a leisurely day of tubing.

If you'd rather see the mountain vistas from the comfort of your car, take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway! There's an entrance to 'America's Favorite Drive' located just 5 minutes away from the cabin.

Take a day trip to Asheville to see the historic Biltmore Estate, just 43 minutes away! You'll be awestruck as you walk around the mansion and explore the grounds.

There's no better place to get that 'Small Town Americana' feel than in Waynesville, the closest town to Balsam. This charming town was voted one of the top 100 places to retire, the best small town, the best mountain town, and the best Main Street town! You'll love strolling along Main Street and visiting the local shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants.

When you're not cooking up a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen, be sure to dine out some of Waynesville's great restaurants! Start the day off with breakfast and a slice of pie at Clyde's Restaurant. Later on, check out Sweet Onion for traditional Southern comfort food or Bocelli's for some of the best Italian food around. Other great options include The Tipping Point, Bogart's, and Granny's!
