With 1 chef hat restaurant Ormeggio on the Spit, The Watermark Public Dining Room and an array of cafes and bistros with the exclusive shopping district of Mosman all a short walk away.
Swimming, sailing, kayaking, children's play area and local parks and reserves all a short stroll away with Taronga Zoo and Manly beach close by.

“Can't get closer to Balmoral Beach”
We spent 2 weeks over Christmas at the Oriana on Balmoral Beach. We have 2 young children (2 and 5) and we are very careful about going away - a supposed holiday can easily turn into a nightmare with little ones.. The Oriana could not be more perfect for a young family. The apartment is huge and all on one level with stunning views out onto the harbour. The front door is right on the beach and immediately onto a childrens tidal swimming pool. Even on the beach the waves are gentle. A perfect stay - breakfast from Bathers, a huge space for the children to be at home and hours spent in the sea. Cannot recommend more highly.
“Heaven on earth”
What a gorgeous place. The views were amazing, we could have sat all day and just watched the harbour/activity. Helen was very friendly and offered us any assistance we needed, not that we needed much it was so well appointed. Amazing location - would love to return ASAP!!! When the reviews say it is on the beach, they mean 'on the beach'. We were able to sit on the beach and send my 4 and 7 year old up to the house to get a drink or pick up forgotten goggles, unescorted as it is so close.
As a family we had a great time spending a week on Balmoral beach , the children could be playing safely while we watched them from the penthouse with it's excellent views .The apartment is very comfortable and has every thing you need and was spotless. Then within a short walk up the beach the restaurants are Child friendly and fab and serve breakfast ,lunch & dinner , we didn't cook once !
“Extraordinary Rental in Ideal Location - The Oriana - Highly recommended”
My family feels extremely fortunate to have been able to stay at the Oriana during our recent holiday in Sydney. With two young children in tow (ages 5 and 2), and currently living in a land-locked country, proximity to a beach was key for us. Oriana is nestled literally on the beach at Balmoral…..you step out of your door and you are on the beach (a harbour beach and thus ideal for small children). At one end of the beach you find rocks, perfect for climbing over and exploring as well as the perfect location to sit for a picnic lunch or at sunset with an aperitif. At the other end of the beach, you find a children's playground and park, again, ideal for young children. To get you from one end of the beach to the other (a relaxed 10 minute walk along a bike path or the beach itself), there are a couple of coffee shops/restaurants with high quality offerings. Directly in front of Oriana, there is a rock pool, where my children loved to swim and play each day. In addition to the ideal location of Oriana, the accommodation itself is superb. We were met by the owner Helen upon arrival, who gave us a thorough orientation of the house. Nothing was overlooked by Helen in welcoming us to her property. In spite of it being a very comfortable and luxuriously finished property, Helen and David are extremely welcoming of children, which we appreciated so much. Home-made cupcakes were presented to the children when we arrived and Helen showed them to their room where their bath towels had been arranged in the shape of African animals. Most appreciated also were the buckets/spades/beach toys we found in a cupboard, all of which were used each day by my children and their friends/cousins. Each request we made of Helen and David (and I hope there weren't too many!) was met with efficiency and thoughtfulness. The views from their stunning property over the Sydney Harbour towards the Heads are truly extraordinary and can be enjoyed well from nearly every room in the beautiful apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped and with high quality appliances. Similarly, the bathrooms and washing facilities functioned perfectly. We used the BBQ on a couple of occasions and enjoyed eating on the balcony or in the front-sun room, both of which afford incredible views of the water. We had a car and parking was no problem at all directly below the apartment. Helen even provided weekend parking vouchers to ensure that our car could remain in its convenient position near the front door. I would recommend this property without hesitation.
“A fantastic beach holiday in Sydney”
A warm welcome from Helen, who owns the apartment and lives beneath it. The apartment was spotless upon arrival and the little welcoming touches, including some home baking and a bottle of wine, were much appreciated. The interior of this apartment is lovely, with hints of its Art Deco heritage (especially in the bathroom) and an interesting mixture of Asian and African art. The views across the beach and the harbour are wonderful. The major draw card of this property, especially for people with young children, is its proximity of the beach - literally down the steps of the apartment and you're on the beach. There is an area for paddling right in front of the apartment - again, ideal for the young family. Helen and her husband David, living in the apartment below, are readily available in the event of problems with the property and are a great resource for giving advice on how to maximize the enjoyment of your visit. As a courtesy to Helen and David, it is important to try to prevent children from thumping about at anti-social hours (hint - this important if you are on NZ time and your kids wake up early) It is difficult to find anything to criticize about this holiday home. The only three things that I can think of to mention are really minor and did not detract from the wonderful time we had;(1) parking outside the apartment can be difficult at peak times, (2) a 9.30am check out on departure day could be an issue if you are trying to get breakfast ready for kids whilst packing etc. (3) the water temperature and pressure in the showers could be variable. However, irrespective of these minor points, our stay at The Oriana was one of the best family holidays we've ever had.
