Description

The Swallows offers superior accommodation with spectacular views into Glentaise. Recently renovated with lots of period charm, and modernised to a very high standard the cottage merges the elegant decor of old with new sleek luxurious kitchen and bathrooms. The cottage has a spacious kitchen/dining area with a working oil fired Rayburn Stove at one end and fireplace at the other. The lounge enjoys panoramic views of Glentaise and Ballycastle, the house is comfortable and enjoys freesat tv, dvd, wifi. There are five bedrooms (two ensuite), two bathrooms with free-standing showers and one bath, towels and bed-linen supplied .The property also has an attractive sunroom which has patio doors leading to a secure back garden with a garage which hosts a full sized pool table. We provide a welcome pack and information on the host of local attractions in the area.

It is a short drive (1 mile) to the small friendly town of Ballycastle which has a variety of shops bars and restaurants. Ballycastle Park has a children's play area, tennis courts, a bowling green leading onto the beach, harbor and marina.

“Overpriced and not recommended”

We rented this house at the last minute as all ballycastle properties were booked. It is the most expensive house we have ever rented in the town and was way overpriced. Whilst having ample accommodation it is not a luxury house as I would expect. The kitchen is poor- a door hanging off almost caused a serious accident. I pointed this out to the lady who simply shrugged her shoulders and admitted they needed a new kitchen! We did not receive the welcome pack so lauded by other visitors. The cushendall road on which the house sits is a racetrack and as lorries went past past the house shook. Nobody slept well. Coming from the city to a rural location the least you would expect is a nights sleep! The house was not cleaned to a high standard - e.g. I had to clean the grill before I used it. I had to find and then clean the BBQ. I have already booked for next year a similar size but far superior house in the town for £400 less. Friends who live in the area are astounded by the rate charged for this house.
