The Stables is a downstairs disabled friendly self catering apartment which opens out onto the courtyard at the front and the new garden patio area at the back of the apartment. The apartments have great character and blend old with new perfectly, with original stone work exposed in several areas. If you are a lover of old buildings you will fall in love with the attention to detail in these apartments which have been lovingly restored by their owners Pat and Julie. The Old Rectory is set on 23 acres of park land with magnificent old trees and over looking Fenagh Lake.
The Stables has three bedrooms and bathrooms, one of them is a disabled friendly bathroom. The bedrooms can be either twins or doubles depending on your requirements. There is a combined sitting, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with all that is necessary for cooking and has a fridge, microwave, cooker, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, TV and DVD player. There is a separate laundry room for all the apartments. Sheets, blankets and towels are provided. There is a welcome pack provided for your arrival. Fenagh village has a shop which can provide for most of your needs and it has two pubs. The village is a five minute walk.
Fenagh is surrounded by heritage and most of the village is on heritage ground, We are the holders of the key for Fenagh Abbey which was originally built in the 6th century. Leitrim has a lot to offer with a wide variety of attractions to suit all tastes within easy access. We have bicycles for use to cycle the quiet roads of Leitrim and Canadian canoes at the Lake. Walking, horse riding, golfing and fishing are available locally. Fenagh visitor center has a soft play area for children, a coffee shop and information on local heritage. In the Location Details you will find suggestions for day trips. There are lots of quiet sitting areas to relax with a book or enjoy the peace and quiet that surrrounds us.
And at the end of the day sit in the hot tub looking out at Fenagh Abbey and Fenagh Lake to reflect on your day.

The Western Ireland region
There is so much to see and do in the area to suit all tastes. Lough Key Forest Park has a fantastic ropes course, Zipit, and also an indoor problem solving activity suitable for all the family called Boda Borg, and a great outdoor children's play area, rowing boats to rent and a coffee shop. Arigna Mines provides guided tours of the old coal mines by guides who used to work in the mines, it also has a great information area, and coffee shop. Strokestown House and Gardens gives a very different view of an old house it is privately owned and the house is pretty much as it was when the last people left it as they took very little with them. Marble Arch Caves are Unesco awarded caves and they are beautiful, and when the weather is good you enter them by boat. Florencecourt House is close to the Marble Arch Caves and is a National Trust House. Lough Rynn House has beautiful gardens and you can have lunch or afternoon tea there. All of these attractions have walks of varying lengths.
This is just a sample of what is available within easy driving distance.
Most of our guests are overwhelmed by the beauty of Leitrim and the great place we live in. The Old Rectory was built to accommodate the rector for the Church of Ireland which is beside our home. The Abbeys are beside the church and as we are on protected ground there are few houses near us. Fenagh is a lovely village with a local shop, two pubs and a visitor centre. Ballinamore is 3 miles and Mohill is 7 miles. Leitrim is known for its landscape with an abundance of lakes for fishing, hilly landscape for walking, and quiet roads for cycling.
