The England region

Bakewell is a small town in the Peak District National Park, famous for its Bakewell Puddings. Bakewell is close to the famous Chatsworth House, one of the most visited stately homes in England. Bakewell is a market town and the market is still held every Monday. Being on the River Wye, there is a five arched bridge over the river into the town giving way to a beautiful walk along the river bank. There is also a park along the river with benches to sit and enjoy the beauty of the water way, feed the ducks or eat ice cream.

Bakewell is an ideal base for exploring the Peak District National Park.

Bakewell

The Peak District is a park of natural beauty which is a joy to simply view and explore by car, foot, bike or horseback. It is host to a number of historic houses and stately homes including Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. The towns with the Peak District are full of character due to their construction mainly from Derbyshire gritstone which makes the sights within the Peak District unique.

The Peak District also hosts a number of caverns and tourist attractions such as the Heights of Abraham in Matlock, allowing tourists to view the landscape from above and below! It is also home to some wonderful country pubs serving some of the best real ales and food in the country.
