“Delightful cottage with all mod-cons in the Peak District”

Reviewed 8 May 2015

Three of us stayed in Devonshire Cottage over the Easter break. The cottage is very nicely renovated, has all the modern conveniences and was just perfect for us. There is lots of great walking in the area. We walked over to Chatsworth and had a tour of the house and gardens; another day we had a ramble over the Beeley Moor. Highly recommend the Old Smithy, a cafe in the village. They have great lunches and you can also buy essential groceries there as well. The Devonshire Arms was also great for a more formal evening meal. Marlene had everything ready for us when we arrived - nice bottle of wine and welcome card. This is a great spot from which to visit the Peak district

“Spectacular experience in Peaks District!”

Devonshire Cottage is a charming, delightful oasis in the English countryside. Lovely stone exterior, updated and fully appointed interior with beautiful design touches, and perfectly located to explore Chatsworth and the surrounding area. Thanks to the Marlene for the wonderful hospitality and area information. We are already planning the return trip. Highly recommend adding this treasure to your English itinerary.

“Beautiful cottage in a great location.”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2015

We stayed at Devonshire cottage for my 30th birthday weekend and couldn't have asked for anything better. The cottage was very clean and tidy, well stocked with everything we needed and beautifully furnished. You can see how much thought had been put into making it a comfortable place to stay. The location was also great. The village was peaceful and we were able to walk to the chatsworth estate right from the cottage. We were also a short drive from Bakewell where you can find lovely shops and we recommend trying some traditional bakewell pudding! This was our first visit to the peak district and we will definitely think about coming back again.

“An amazing stay!!”

A little gem in the lovely village of Beeley. We stayed to celebrate Valentine's Day and Hubbie's Birthday.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this superb, cosy cottage. Wonderfully clean with top of the range fittings and furnishings. Instantly felt at home. The place has a lovely ambience. Thank you Marlene for the lovely welcome gift and the the loveheart sweeties!! Made us chuckle. Would absolutely recommend.

“Pretty cottage in quiet village”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2013

The cottage is conveniently situated for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell and surrounding towns and villages. Well designed and very clean. Although cited centrally in the village it was peaceful and quiet throughout our stay. Owner was very helpful.

“Beat this holiday accommodation in Derbyshire if you can!”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2013

Devonshire Cottage interior is beautifully decorated and furnished, along with excellent kitchen and dining room equipment. It offers a number of nice touches such as modern lighting, reading matter and a comprehensive and well presented folder of local tourist information. There is a slim LCD TV and DVD player for evening relaxation if required. Both bedrooms have been very tastefully furnished. The bathroom facilties are both modern and excellent including a very efficient shower. Gas Central heating works well if needed. The Devonshire Arms Inn immediately opposite has an excellent menu/interior. The cottage is well appointed for trips and access to many towns and places of interest, with Chatsworth House close by. Altogether a very pleasant and comfortable accommodation.
