The England region

The Peak District was designated the first National Park in the UK and the incredible and varied scenery makes it a popular backdrop for the film industry

The activities on offer are many and varied including visiting the famous houses of Chatsworth and Haddon, discovering the Blue John caverns, swimming in the heated open air pool or hot air ballooning. For those who need to be active it is a fantastic location for hiking climbing cycling and horse riding.

Bakewell

We are very fortunate to be located in the beautiful Hope Valley. Fantastic scenery and great walks are all on the door step with cycle trails very close by. We are near to the famous Stanage Edge and Edale ( the start of the Pennine Way) and the National Trust Estate of Longshaw is just up the road. Bakewell and Chatsworth are a 10 minute drive away.

The accommodation itself is located on a small working farm and enjoys uninterrupted views of the Derwent river valley and Froggatt Edge. Guests are welcome to take advantage of the riverside location for summer picnics (weather permitting !)

We have 2 pubs/hotels in the village, The Sir William and The Maynard and our local shop is situated in the church vestry ! There are numerous pubs and wine bars within a very short distance where you can sit and enjoy a pint in front of the fire!
