Year purchased: 1997

The owner: Paulo is a Telecommunications Engineer who bought and lived in this house his single adult life. After getting married he moved.
Ines is the friend and Computer Engineer who decided that such a nice place should have the chance of being appreciated by everyone.

Why Paulo purchased this property: The privileged location by the sea was one of the multiple factors that lead to buying this house. No need to convince you on the benefits of the proximity to the beach and seaside...
This apartment gathers the best of two worlds: integrated into a tranquil and modern neighborhood and the proximity with the all the fun - whether you just want to have dinner at charming and cozy restaurant in Cascais or enjoy nightlife at Lisbon.
If you are into walking there is quite a lot to explore and geocaching is all around the place.
For radical sports you already know that surf and kitesurf are a must around here.
If you are looking for history and nature you have quite easy access to Sintra, Ericeira and so on.
In resume: if all you want is quality relaxing time this apartment is perfect!

Unique benefits of the property: Winter afternoons there are amazing. Relaxing by the veranda, everything is peaceful and then you decide to see the sunset by the seaside. You get to Casa da Guia in a couple of minutes walking and ask for a hot chocolate in the esplanade by the sea.
In the summer you drive for a couple of minutes to the Guincho beach or grab free bikes and you spend a glory day under the Portuguese sun. Returning home after a beach day is always a pleasure.

If any suggestions needed I'll be glad to point out the most amazing places in Lisbon, Cascais and surroundings. Or just borrow the Lisbon guide, choose a restaurant and a bar from the Restaurant Guide and head off to your chosen destination.

It's also the perfect spot if you want to check the Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) in May/June 2015.

Location description from owner

The Central Portugal region

30 minutes away (car or train) from Portugal's capital city, the Estoril Coast has a wonderful climate and is a superb natural environment.

Owing to a Mediterranean type micro-climate, the Estoril Coast has mild winters and an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot. The autumn is ideal and is like a second spring.

Nowhere else in the world can such dramatic changes of scenery and such contrasting atmospheres be experienced in as small an area as the Estoril Coast. The region offers a concentration of different experiences all within a half hour's drive. Apart from an enormous range of sights attractive to any visitor, a number of more specialised interests can also be pursued.

Bairro do Rosario

Lisbon, one of the oldest and most fascinating capital cities in Europe, it has everything a city can provide: a unique atmosphere, a rich history back to the time of the discoveries, good shopping, entertainment of all types and a wealth of cultural activities.

Cascais was originally a small fishing port with tourism and a variety of properties situated on the sea front, it has now developed over the years into a very high standard place to live for many Portuguese. The town centre has kept its charm with a good selection of restaurants, shops, lively bars all located within the narrow cobbled streets.
