The holiday apartment is situated directly on the sea front, in an exclusive apartment complex which offers total privacy with an excellent infrastructure. The combination of Spanish and Moroccan architecture will enchant you immediately.

The spacious living area offers plenty of room for your family as well as your guests. The wonderful view from the living room overlooking the sea will put you in a holiday mood immediately. In the fully equipped style kitchen (which includes a , hob, refrigerator, dishwasher etc) meals can be prepared at ease. Not only the living room but also the two large bedrooms are exclusively furnished. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds which can be easily attached to make a comfortable double bed. A children's bed is also available enabling a family of five to stay at the apartment. Enjoy dining with a stunning sea view from the round table in a Spanish style oriel.

About Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is located in the centre of the Canary Islands’ archipelago. The ‘round island’ – so called because of its circular shape – is 47 km (29 miles) wide and covers an area of 1,532 sq km. Its highest peak, Pozo de Las Nieves (1949 m/6431 ft above sea level), is situated right in the centre of the island.Gran Canaria belongs to an area of the Atlantic Ocean, known as ‘Macaronesia’, which includes the Canary Islands as well as the archipelagos of Madeira, Azores, Cape Verde and part of Morocco. The nearest point on the African coast is approx. 210 km (131 miles) away, while Cadiz, the closest port on the European continent, lies about 1250 km (781 miles) north of Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria, which is the third largest island of the Canaries, boasts 236 km of coast with sandy beaches, predominantly located on the southeast coast. This is also the area where you’ll find the famous beaches of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas with its amazing sand dunes both of which are only 10 minutes by car from the apartment. The southwest and west coasts are dominated by cliffs, and in the north and northeast of the island the coastline is very diversified, offering a wide variety of beaches and coves. The centre of the island is mountainous with a few high peaks and many gorges radiating out towards the sea.

Coves and beaches, impressive cliffs, hidden corners, magnificent mountains, stunning craters and amazing ravines with their lush, subtropical vegetation and natural reserves are some of the many natural delights, which mark Gran Canaria’s personality … so very diversified and unique!

Bahia Feliz

Bahia Feliz is a small settlement with a very good infrastructure. There is a shopping centre, boutiques, restaurants, cafés and pubs, so that guests do not necessarily have to rent a car. You can enjoy a walk along the beautiful seaside promenade which will take you into San Agustin or Playa del Ingles within 20-30 minutes. In the settlement you will nevertheless find some inexpensive car hire.

Sioux City

Ride back in time and get the feel of the ‘roaring Wild West’! For the kiddies there is a small zoo with some cute animals. Sioux City takes you back to the good old western days situated in San Agustin and open every day except Mondays from 10.00 to 17.00.

Go Karting available all year round within half a mile of apartment.

Waterparks - Aquasur and Ocean Park.

Windsurfing and Kite surfing: Club Mistral has it’s main base directly on the beach in Bahia Feliz. There are approx. 70 boards with 100 rigs as well as state of the art kites at your disposal. Mountain biking: Gran Canaria is an island with innumerable routes, which are suitable not only for bicycle fans but also for visitors, seeking direct contact with nature. Organised tours are also available. Trekking: The entire island is covered by an ample network of trekking routes. There are easily accessible pathways, “caminos reales”, donkey paths and in addition, small ways and paths, which are reserved for the experienced trekker. Tennis: There are two tennis courts close by.

Europe’s largest centre of Thalassic therapy lies close by and offers a choice of wellness spas, relaxation and swimming in hot sea water. Also a detailed medical examination for the preparation of a personal program, massage, water gymnastics, bubble bath, underwater shower, pressure shower, sauna followed by body-peeling, cleaning of the skin with massage, manicure, pedicure, algae-therapy, bubble-bath with algae, facial treatment or treatment to improve skin texture as well as treatment for rheumatic complaints are offered.

Golf

Of all the golf courses in the world many cannot compete with Gran Canaria, because the island has a special advantage: the climate as well as the possibility of being able to play golf during the whole year. Today Gran Canaria has six golf courses, they are spread out across the island with a distance of no more than 50 kilometres between each one. Shortly this list will be extended to a four further golf courses, which are currently being built. A further advantage of Gran Canaria golf courses is their competitive price, which is below the average. The Green fee of the 18 hole courses costs here about 50 Euros in the off season (between May and September) and 70 Euros in the remaining months.

“Simply wonderful”

The apartment is very well located and comfortable. The washing machine and dishwasher a bonus. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The pool on site is well maintained and has plenty of sun beds and parasols. We walked most days along the promenade to the Orchida hotel that was great for the activities and facilities. The 5 star restraunt there is excellent. We also liked Eddies for good value and friendly staff. The bus service is very good although the Carrefour supermarket is a 17 euro taxi ride back but well worth it for the lovely fresh meat it inexpensive wine! We would return.

Excellent holiday apartment with all the comforts of home including dishwasher and washing machine. Perfect view from the balcony with the sea just yards away, the ideal place to eat your breakfast. The on site pool and snack bar were facilities were good. A great and relaxing time.

If you are wanting a peaceful holiday this where you should come. The apartment was good with a fabulous outlook to the ocean. The apartment was comfortable and would have no hesitation in recommending it and will be returning in the not so distant future. Upgrading is scheduled by the owner and about to be done. Great details by owner and absolutely no hitches in getting there. Surrounding gardens and pool area lovely. Easy access to the busy "tourist" hotspots by car or local buses. Fresh fish 100m away - caught every day by a local fisherman.

“A disappointing experience - Apartment worn and tired”

We booked Altamar apartment for 2 weeks. If we had not paid we would not have stayed. Although a lovely location and stunning complex, this apartment has been neglected and is badly in need of refurbishing. The bedding was appalling, very worn and rough -we actually drove to the Shopping Centre and bought new sheets. There was no change of bedding for stays of more than a week. The whole apartment had an air of decay with broken tiles, ripped flooring on balcony, broken lampshades and cracked work surface in kitchen. On the plus side, it was good to have a washing machine and a dishwasher. The location is lovely, overlooking the ocean, peaceful and quiet and lovely walks to good restaurants just 15 mins walk away. The swimming pool is excellent and there are some lovely apartments in the complex - just a shame we chose this one! Would not recommend this Apartment unless it has a complete makeover!

The owner's have recently returned from working in Dubai and and have recently visited the apartment to update this property and have given this property a full and complete redecoration.

“excellent base for travelling”

very pleasant location with marvellous sea views, villa was as described.... secure complex within well maintained grounds , we found the location excellent as a base for travelling around the island, quiet but within 10 mins you can be in noisy playa de ingles ! taxis, plentifull and cheap, we hired a car, but could have easily managed without it . villa clean, bedding needs updating but other than that no complaints

We arrived to Gran Canaria holding keys to the apartment. There was no need to contact anyone on the island as keys were sent to us prior to our departure.+ The apartment was clean and located in a quiet area. + We found all items of equipment in good working order , good quality kitchenware as well. + The pool welcomed us with quite cool water ( refreshing ) in comparison to warm Atlantic in the mid of October . Altamar is only 10 min away ( cheap car rental ) from famous golden sand beach in Maspalomas - a must see in GC. Simply - perfect place for both families and couples / friends. See you soon GC.
