Description from manager
RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE. Villa Loreto is the result of the salvage and recent restoration of an old, 19th century farmhouse which the owners' respect for the original materials and their love of hospitality have turned into the charming home that it is today. Handmade terracotta from Vetriolo; basalt stone; clading, exposed beams, window and door fittings in chestnut wood; furniture, crockery and ornaments, both antique and ethnic; hand-made tapestries: all this immerses the visitor in the warmth of an old-time home and puts him at ease while the three hectares of park and woodland cradle him during his stay, dedicated to relaxation and tranquillity. The porch, shaded by centuries-old trees, is set up for convivial meals and parties, accompanied by the flavours and scents of the vegetable garden. The view of Civita di Bagnoregio, seen from the pool, anticipates the scenery and splendour that this magnificent area of upper Lazio offers. The area around the villa is suitable for excursions

Location description from manager
The Lazio region
The sandblasted red brick colour of Villa Loreto stands out against the dark green woodland and the yellow ocher of the Valle dei Calanchi dominated by Civita di Bagnoregio, the old "Balneum regis." This is a borgo of unique charm, founded by the Etruscans 2500 years ago and standing imposingly on a tuff mound, with vast banks of clay as its base and subject to erosion which causes the gradual and inexorable destruction; this is why it is called "the dying town". A recently rediscovered gem, it is the destination of interesting cultural, artistic and gastronomic events. A few kilometres away is the Lake of Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe, suitable for swimming and teeming with fish, with charming villages along its shore banks like Bolsena, Marta, Capo di Monte and Gradoli; Montefiascone, home of the wine Est Est Est!, connected to other towns of Tuscia through the Wine and Oil Route; Orvieto with its cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture; Viterbo, the papal city with the Quartiere di San Pellegrino, the famous Macchina di Santa Rosa and the Terme dei Papi; the Park of Monsters in Bomarzo; Todi, a gem! In little more than an hour you can reach Rome and in two, Florence and Siena. Closer to Villa Loreto are: Sorano, Pitigliano, Sovana and Saturnia, towns famous for Etruscan architecture and remains, fine wine, local products and sulphurous waters. And then there's the Tyrrhenian Sea, with Tarquinia, Montalto and Capalbio.
