“Amazing place to stay”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

We are not long back from Il Fienile and what a brilliant week we had. It is set in the most amazing hillside in a lovely little village where the residents are friendly and welcoming. Joanna, Antonio are fantastic and strike a great balance between being available for advice and making you feel that you are alone on the hilltop. We travelled with our 3 year old and this accommodation was brilliant for allowing us to have a few day trips to Florence and Pisa and half day trips to Lucca and Barga and always allowed enough time to enjoy the pool. Fantastic place to base yourself for the northern part of Tuscany especially if what you are after is enjoying the Tuscan countryside. The accommodation is lovely with brilliant views.

Thank you so much for your review, it was a joy having you stay at our property. As you said in your review Il Fienile is a great holiday rental as staying here allows you to strike the balance between sightseeing and complete relaxation. Clients like yourselves seem to like the fact they can see the famous Tuscan sights such as the leaning tower of Pisa, Lucca and Florence. Coming back in the evening they can then relax in the gardens and enjoy the views, along with the relaxing country way of life. Thanks again and take care Joanna and family

“Fantastic location, wonderful hosts”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2013

We were so pleased to have chosen Il Fienile for our first experience of the Tuscan hills - the house is located in a stunning spot and we loved our first glimpse of it across the valley when we drove into Guzzano. Antonio and Joanna were very welcoming and provided an immaculate and well equipped property as well as helpful local knowledge. Our children (12 and 9) loved the pool and terrace and feeding the geese! We are very keen to return and hope that the boys will get together next time! Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Hello a big thank you for your review. We are always so pleased when guests enjoy our farm rental and its surroundings as much as we do. The rental has been developed with no expense spared to create a real home from home feel and the pool is always a real plus especially with family groups like yourselves. The area is great for children and the animals on the farm always seem to be a source of pleasure for people staying. Please tell the boys both the geese and Massimo will still be here for next time, we might even have a peacock or too to add to the existing stock of birds!!!. We would love to see you all again until then take care. Kind regards Joanna and family

“A rustic mountain idyll”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2013

This remote and beautiful property has the sort of mountain views you dream about. It is essentially an annex of Jo and Antonio’s home with 2 private terraces and a swimming pool. It is arranged on one floor and being set into the hillside is elevated at the back with its own entrance to the front. It is comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The family strike a happy balance between respecting your privacy while at the same time being helpful and welcoming. If the concept of Agrotourismo is new to you it all happens here. This industrious couple are working the land in new and innovative ways to reinvigorate the local economy and can only be congratulated for their enterprise. A stay at Il Fienile offers the best of rural Italy and at the same time easy access to Florence, Pisa and Lucca if you ever want leave this rustic idyll.

Thank you for your kind review and your kind words. We are so glad you liked your stay with us here on the farm at Il Fienile, you were a lovely couple and a joy to have as our guests on the farm. As you said in your review the property is remote enough for those like yourselves who want peace and tranquillity to relax in during the day and evening. Yet it is close to all the major Tuscan tourist attractions such as Lucca, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence all of these are only a short drive away. We hope you enjoy cooking with your Saffron from our farm and please keep in touch both of you. kind regards Joanna and the family

“Amazing Tuscany”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2013

The villa in Bagni di Lucca exceeded my expectations! I felt welcomed the moment I got there and everyday since. I couldn't help but focus on the mountainous landscape surrounding the villa. The weeks spent in this Tuscan villa were the most peaceful and relaxing. Many of the days were used by the pool laying out in the sun enjoying the stunning views. The location of Bagni di Lucca is fantastic with convenient trips to nearby towns of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, etc. When you stay here, you can tell Jo and Antonio take pride in having people stay in their villa. I would gladly recommend staying in this area of Tuscany. Hope to be back soon! Thanks Jo and Antonio for a wonderful stay!

Thank you for your kind review. We often get clients amazed by the properties location. The pictures of the surrounding views simply do not do it justice. The property is as you found perfectly located for those wanting to visit Florence, Pisa and Lucca as well as those wanting to relax and enjoy the Tuscan lifestyle truly a "Bella Vita". We are looking forward to seeing you again next year all of you. Until then take care Joanna

“Magnificent farmhouse in a beautiful tranquil countryside setting”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2012

The apartment was a beautifully restored farmhouse set within the wonderful rural countryside of tuscany. We woke up to spectacular views overlooking olive groves and vineyards with a magnificent mountainous background!! The house is in a very quaint tiny mountain village with a real community spirit, where your italian neighbours will say ciao and the children play happily in the fields. The apartment is self contained and has everything needed to ensure a very comfortable stay, including a very well kept outside garden and swimming pool area. The nearest shops are a short drive away and it is close to Florence, Lucca, Pisa and the beach for day trips. We had the most wonderful time staying here and would love to come back at some point. Would definitely recommend it to others wanting a real italian experience!!!

We are so pleased you loved our rental property. The location is stunning, tranquil and yet being on the edge of the village it is also close to bars, shop, supermarkets etc. As a base for sightseeing in Tuscany as you found out it is perfect.

“The making of beautiful memories”

Reviewed 10 May 2012

The apartment is well set up with all we needed, everything was clean and in good condition. We found it to be very comfortable and the location is excellent, in fact the views are breathtaking. The owners, Jo and Tony were very pleasant and obliging, they helped with translation, bookings and any queries we had, they were very kind. We did some local walks, which were lovely and travelled by bus to Lucca and Castel Nuova, public transport is very good. Bagna di Lucca was great for eating out or a coffee and pastry when out and about, there is a small market there, twice a week I think, and a very big one at Castel Nuova which we enjoyed. All in all we had a great holiday.

Thank you for your kind review. As this is a new rental property, when we get feedback like this, it makes all our hard work worth while. We are so pleased you loved the apartment and its location and yes the views are truly breathtaking. Whilst we do recommend a car, as you found out it is also easy to get about using public transport links, although they run a limited service from Guzzano. The markets are great and Castelnuovo is one of our favourites, every Thursday and only 30 minutes drive away. We would like to say a big thank you for recommending us to your friends. If you ever decide to visit us again, we would love to have you stay. kind regards and many thanks.
