Welcome to The Retreat at Scaurodoon. A beautiful recently built, 2 bedroom condo type house. We are located in the heart of Burns Country in Ayr, beautifully situated at the estuary of the River Doon, right by the famous Ayr Beach. Burns Cottage, Museum and the famous Brig O'Doon are all within a 20 minute walk . There are beautiful river walks and stunning beach walks on the doorstop and Ayr Town Centre is a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk from the house.

There are top class restaurants, cafes pubs and shops within easy walking distance.

South Ayrshire is also golfing country and there are two excellent local courses within a ten minute walk from the house and several other top flight links courses within a 20 minute drive including Prestwick Old Course, the site of the first ever Open Golf Championship and the British Open courses at Royal Troon and iconic Turnberry.

Further afield Glasgow is within an hours drive or 40 minute train journey from Ayr Station. Edinburgh is about 90 minutes drive from Ayr. THere are plenty of public transport options nearby

The property itself is beautiful with all the facilities you will require for your stay. Both bedrooms have King Size double beds, one of which can be split into 2 singles if required. There is a "Jack and Jill" bathroom between the two bedrooms and another shower room downstairs.

Also while we are happy for friends and families to gather for special occasions we would ask potential guests to remember that we are located in a quiet residential area and therefore are not suited as a venue for parties and events aiming to cater for more attendees than those staying ias paid guests.

Why can't I call Gary (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Gary (the owner) a message.

If Gary (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
