Le Jardin consists of two properties; the farmhouse sleeping a maximum of eight and a smaller cottage which can sleep up to four. We have found this to be an ideal arrangement for larger parties where a degree of privacy is desired. We have had as guests three generations of the family where the grand-parents prefered some peace and quiet of an evening but also two families who find it easier to put their own children to bed without the distractions of other children!
We believe the farmhouse at LeJardin to be approximately 200 years old. It is traditionally constructed of granite under a slate roof.
It has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout.
The large garden is for the guests use, it has a decking area and heated 7m circular swimming pool. The pool is above ground and has an removable ladder for greater safety. The pool is normally available from June until September. If the cottage is occupied then the pool will be shared.
LeJardin is set in a rural position on the outskirts of the Village of Vezins, close to the Barrage de Vezins where the lake stretches all the way to St.Hilaire du Harcouet. We also have a fishing shack on the Lac de Vezins for guests to use. Fishing varies from carp through to zander, perch and pike for the experienced down to roach and bream for Dads who perhaps might fancy taking their lads angling for the first time. I'm always happy to spend an hour explaining the basics and we can supply some basic tackle if required.
Within easy reach of the Channel ports. 45 minutes to St.Malo, 90 minutes to Caen, We are an ideal base and perfectly positioned to explore all that Normandy has to offer, from visiting the Le Mont St Michel in the South up to the Normandy beaches and Bayeux to the North.

The Basse-Normandie region
Lower Normandy has a full history of coastlines from the D-Day Landings in the North with the beaches Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha and Utah. Many are still deeply pitted by German bunkers and shell holes. To the South on the border of Brittany stands the magnificent Mont St.Michel which is the second most visited toursit attraction in France. The Channel Islands are accessible from St.Malo in neighbouring Brittany.
Le Mont St.Michel is a place that must be visited. Rightly called "The Wonder of the Western World", the Mont-Saint-Michel is surrounded by a magnificent bay, which is the theatre of the greatest tidal ranges in Europe. A place of history and legends and a delight to see day or night. The beautiful Manuscripts to Mont St.Michel are housed in Avranches town hall where visitors can discover the textures of the manuscripts, the materials, the colours of the inks and the shapes used by medieval copyists.

"Le Jardin at Vezins is an ideal location for a restful break, but with good tourist attractions nearby"
After a busy few months we decided to take a week break in France at the end of November. We spent some time looking at different places and decided to book a week stay self-catering in the farmhouse at Le Jardin at Vezins. We took a very pleasant overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo and using the directions provided on the website we arrived at our destination within 45 minutes of getting off the ferry. Le Jardin is in a quiet rural location with lovely gardens and surrounding countryside. We were met by Steve and Dawn Hill the owners and given a warm welcome and a guided tour of the farmhouse. The farmhouse is very nicely decorated and furnished very comfortably, there is a large dining table and a lovely sitting room along with the kitchen downstairs. There are several bedrooms and the double we had was very comfortable. We really wanted to visit Mont St Michel and Le Jardin is very well situated for this as it is only a 15 minute drive away, we spent several hours exploring “Le Mont” and would advise any visitor to go to the monastery. During our stay we also visited the US military cemetery at St James about 15 minutes away which was again a very worthwhile experience. The town of Ducey is about 4 miles away, and well worth a visit with a chateau with beautiful gardens, as well as some nice places to eat and drink. It also has a weekly market on Tuesdays. In conclusion Le Jardin at Vezins is an ideal location for a restful break, but with good tourist attractions nearby.

"Exactly what we were looking for!"
A delightful house in a lovely rural area yet only a few minutes away from the delightful town of Ducey where there are shops, bars, restaurants and a wonderful boulangerie! Our friendly hosts, Dawn and Steve, were always on hand to provide local information which was very useful. We visited the breathtaking Mont St Michel - not to be missed! We used the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen which was absolutely perfect for us. This property is only one and a half hours from the Port so we were there in no time! All in all, we had a lovely relaxing visit and will be visiting again.
