"Charming and cozy pied a terre!"
I stayed at La Chapelle du Miracle on my own for 4 days and my partner joined me for the final 3 days of a one week stay. I arrived from Marseilles at the central station. The directions provided by Google maps were adequate for me to find La Chapelle in a ten minute walk. Easiest to stay outside the city wall if you are dragging a rolling bag. The newly renovated studio/loft apartment is very well appointed and the resident hosts were there if we needed them. The winding metal staircase up to the sleeping loft and bathroom would be challenging for the less physically adept but it was nice to have the separation of space. We enjoyed being just out of the more touristy side of Avignon. While there, I took side trips to Arl and Orange. A highlight for me was a day when I walked across the bridges to Villeneuve les Avignon to visit the Fort and monastery. Another highlight was the tour of the Popes' Palace and the famous bridge. A 10 minute walk outside the city wall and across the railway tracks, to the nearby Le Clerc full service food store provided a broad selection of reasonably priced grocery items and other necessities. When it came time to leave for the next leg of our journey to NIce, we found that we could take the bus to the TGV station at a stop that was only about a block away..
