With its own private access to the sunny back garden which is sheltered by a large horse chestnut tree overlooking the lake, it is a perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and a good book! A refundable security/breakage deposit of 100 Euros is only charged if using the BBQ and chinaware. There is no facility on this website for me to adapt this, but I will amend the quote to show it if possible.

Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

Tarn et Garonne is a county in Midi Pyrenees on the edge of Gascony rich in fruit, veg and of course wine production. With a Mediterranean climate and temps ranging in Spring/Autumn from mid 20’s to mid 30’s in Summer as well as 2000 hrs of sunshine it means even in winter the area is blessed with bright crisp sunny days. The area is lush with a mix of deciduous woodland and rolling hills that resembles parts of England. Wildlife lovers will marvel at the birds, wild boar, red squirrels etc. Wine lovers are spoilt for choice! We are centrally situated for day trips all over the SW whatever your needs.

Auvillar

Auvillar, a medieval bastide village with its unusual circular corn exchange and impressive views over the Garonne valley, is listed as one of the prettiest villages in France (Un des plus beaux villages de France). It is also an important stop on the famous pilgrims walking route through France "Le Chemin de Saint Jacques-de-Compostelle" or "Way of Saint James".

Historically Auvillar was an important stronghold in the Gallo-Roman period and housed an affluent community. Evidence has been found to suggest that it was possibly rebuilt in the Middle Ages and its social and economic existence is clearly linked to the river Garonne.

Today the beautiful village of about 1,000 residents has many charming attractions with a weekly farmers market, local restaurants, and a variety of shops including a bakery, grocer, newsagent, post office, a chemist, tea room and Soap shop and gift shop, there is even a hairdresser if the need takes you!

Within a few minutes walk from Le Farat, perched on a hill, is the pretty hamlet of Bardigues, with a charming little church and the Auberge de Bardigues restaurant renowned for good dining by the locals and tourists alike.
