“The perfect luxurious antidote to a life spent chasing deadlines at work.”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2013

Perfect time, perfect place. I went to Moughton Cottage on the back of a frantic week at work. My wife Chris had arranged things (no change there) and given that I'm not one for slumming it I must admit I was tempted to call it off and head home. Thankfully, we went ahead and it was a winner all the way. The setting is timeless and the cottage blends ancient and modern in a way that is impossible to fault. The Game Cock did us proud on the dining front both on Saturday night and again at Sunday lunchtime after a six-mile hike over countryside that takes the breath away. We Brits are so lucky to have this sort of retreat within an hour or so of several major cities. I urge anyone to take full advantage of this one.
