Location description from owner

The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region

Our little village of Villemorin is located within vineyards and sunflower fields. The landscape by day or night will inspire you to paint, write, relax and enjoy a little photography. It is also the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful countryside on foot or by bicycle. The square in Villemorin boasts a pretty church recently renovated with stunning stained glass windows. Throughout the year are community events including Bastille Day Celebrations on 14 July and the popular Sardine Festival in September.

Villemorin is situated 3 miles/5km from the market town of Aulnay-de-Saintonge, where all amenities are available: supermarkets, bakeries, banks, pharmacies, post office, garages, bars and restaurants. The open air swimming pool with games area and café is open throughout July and August, with the tennis courts open all year. The town is on the Santiago de Compostela route for pilgrims and the Romanesque church of St-Pierre d'Aulnay boasts impressive columns and is listed as a UNESCO Heritage site.

To the east of Villemorin is the little town of Néré, only 4 miles/6km away with supermarket, bakeries, bank, pharmacy and a welcoming anglo-french bar and bistro – Bar St Pierre!

Aulnay

Only 20 minutes drive away is St Jean d'Angèly, perfect for discovering the local heritage and magnificent architecture of the area.
