The Old Cart House has been beautifully & sensitively renovated from the old farm steading. The thick stone walls and feature windows make this cottage warm and very comfortable. It is set amidst farmland & woodland and is a wonderful spot for bird/wildlife. You can walk/cycle straight from the doorstep.

Lovely kitchen/dining room and cosy sitting room with open log fire, oak flooring and comfy leather sofas.There is a private fenced garden with spacious patio, wooden furniture and charcoal BBQ.

Wonderful on site facilities of an indoor heated swimming pool, indoor hot tub, large outdoor hot tub, games room/gym, outdoor children's play area and outdoor tennis court. Only shared with the other 2 cottages here at Newhill Farm (Horse Mill Cottage and The Old Stables).

The Old Cart House is a lovely cosy cottage ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is beautifully decorated and very well equipped with many home from home touches. The sitting room is furnished with comfy leather sofas, oak flooring and an open log fire. The spacious main bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom.

Guests have full and inclusive use of all on site leisure facilities (heated indoor swimming pool, indoor hot tub, large outdoor hot tub, games room/gym, children's outddoor play area & outdoor tennis court. Open 9 am - 9 pm every day). Shared with only the 2 other holiday cottage here (Horse Mill Cottage & The Old Stables)

The private garden is mainly laid to lawn with a good sized patio seating area. There is a wooden table & chairs, sun parasol and charcoal BBQ for relaxing. The area is frequented by lots of bird/wildlife including woodpeckers, red squirrels, owls and wild deer. Very peaceful & scenic.There is ample parking for 2 cars adjacent to the cottage.

The Scotland region

Horse Mill Cottage and The Old Cart House are a wonderful base to explore Fife and the surrounding areas. There is so much to see and do for all the family. There are the gorgeous beaches at St. Andrews and Tentsmuir (30 mins), the quaint east neuk fishing villages to explore (45 mins), the famous Anstruther fish & chip shop, Firth of Forth boat trips to visit the birdlife, whisky distilleries, golf at St. Andrews (30 mins) & Gleneagles (45 mins) and the RSPB reserve at Loch Leven (20 mins). Falkland Palace (10 mins) and Scone Palace (25 mins)The fair cities of Perth (25 mins) and Edinburgh (50 mins) are delightful for a day out.

Auchtermuchty

The village of Auchtermuchty (5 mins) has local shops, a post office, a chemist, a local pub, a fish & chip shop, a chinese take away, doctor's surgery, 2 hairdressers, a petrol station & garage, a church and the famous Tannochbrae Tearoom. It has been home to The Proclaimers and Jimmy Shand.A short drive away is Falkland Palace (10 mins), Birnie Loch Nature Reserve (10 mins), Scottish Deer Centre (15 mins), Abernethy Round Tower (15 mins) and Glentarkie 4 x 4 Centre (10 mins). Perth is a 20 minute drive and St. Andrews is only 25 minutes away.
