Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

The Gascony region of the Midi-Pyrenees is a beautiful area renowned for its food and wines and rolling countryside. Famous for Armangac, Foie Gras, Canard. Full of medieval towns and villages. Auch is the prefecture town of the Gers and is home of D'Artagnan.
Popular with walkers and cyclists, part of Le Chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle passes through. The Pyrenees are a beautiful sight from all around and easily accessible with a 1 to 1.5 hour drive.

Auch

The picturesque area around Auch is home to many medieval villages with weekly markets, impressive chateaus and churches. A rural area with rolling hills, fields of sunflowers, many walking and running trails. There are numerous leisure parks ( base de loisirs), usually situated on a lake with lifeguard swimming, waterslides and pleasure boating, playgrounds, etc.
Golf is available in Auch and Fleurance.
There are many night markets over the summer months, where trestle tables are laid out in the street and neighbours and friends enjoy regional cuisine.
Festivals include the Salsa festival in Vic Fezensac each July. Country and Western festival in Mirande . Jazz Festival in Marciac each August.
Our own village of Nougarelet has a weekend fete with boules tournament, dances, bbqs and bodega. Also open air cinema evenings.
