Very Good

We stayed here from New Years Eve 2015 for 2 weeks. This is a lovely apartment, with everything you need. It's a great size, so even if there are loads of you, you will not feel cramped. Beautiful ocean views from the balcony. We loved it and will definitely book to stay there again. Jean the manager and her sister are very helpful and accommodating.

This was an excellent apartment for our party of four adults and we particularly liked the large well appointed lounge kitchen diner with kitchen island unit. The bedrooms were large and spacious with two double beds and both on suite. The front bedroom opens up on to a spacious balcony as does the lounge. The property is situated right on the shore line at Seaside drive and the Balcony was a hit with us as we like to charge our batteries with a view of the sea and a little light refreshment. We had great connection with all the staff that work at the apartment complex and Jean the manager along with a maid service certainly convinced us that we had made a good choice with this rental. Anyone staying here will liove the pool arrangement and is idea for the size of the complex, only six apartments. You need a hire car to get to shops at Oistins, although we managed very well with taxis. Nearby Miami beach is superp and also the very close Surfers Bar a short walk away. I would certainly recommend this apartment and I am pleased that we found it on our first visit to Barbados.

“Exactly as described and highly recommended.”

I spent a week in Apartment #5 which was very well equipped and maintained. I chose the apartment primarily for the balcony and it didn’t disappoint with fabulous views, sun, and vigorous onshore winds which kept all the mosquitos away. The rest of the apartment was spacious and exactly as described and the onsite manager was always available and helpful. Rosalie’s location is ideal for the more tranquil holiday (although Oistins is only a couple of miles away and a pleasant sea front walk). I had no car but enjoyed the local sea front bar just a 5 minute walk away, and found shops with all the essentials I needed within a c. 15 minute walk.

“Simply outstanding”

This was the second time we have been to Barbados and third time to the Caribbean. Barbados is such a beautiful place it is so easy to have a good holiday, but you still need a great place to stay and this is it! As a family, we much prefer holiday apartments to hotels and having stayed in plenty in the Caribbean, USA, the Canaries and Europe without doubt no. 5 Rosalie Apartments is THE best we have stayed in. From the moment of arrival at the airport where you are met by the housekeeper you just know you are going to have a great time – the people just make you smile and feel part of an extended family! The apartment is enormous and very well appointed with everything you could need. It is very clear that this is not just a holiday apartment but a superb holiday home set up and maintained by the owners as though they are welcoming you in to their own home. It is immaculately clean, well looked after and maintained and extremely comfortable. It clearly designed to allow you to just chill and enjoy your holiday: it’s like staying in your own expensive suite in a top class hotel! Just everything about the apartment and its position literally on the Atlantic coast with the sea crashing on the rocks below allows you to chill out and enjoy your holiday. Sitting on the balcony with a cold beer just watching the little fishing boats going back to Oistins and the turtles feeding off the reef only yards in to the sea is something you just don’t appreciate until you are at home and wishing you were back there! Miami Beach is only 3 minutes away by car and is one of the best beaches on the island, with the highlight being Mr Delicious’ "bus beach bar". The rotis and rum punch are fantastic! When you get back to the apartment a surfer’s bar is only a 2 minute walk away and is the perfect way to enjoy a late afternoon beer or two and watch the turtles again. Oistins (Fish Fry is one eating experience you cannot miss!) or St Lawrence Gap are great places to eat of an evening with a wide choice of restaurants and although you do need a car staying here, the taxis and buses are an easy way to have a good evening out and enjoy the Bajan hospitality! If there was one apartment that you could pick up and take with you wherever you went on holiday this would be it. Brilliant place to stay for a truly memorably holiday.

“Great stay”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2015

We had a great stay at Rosalie number 5. Great Communication with Simon the owner before and during the stay was very easy, as was payment. The apartment is wonderful, great value for money as Barbados can be so expensive. This apartment has so much space. The air con in the bedrooms is a blessing at times. There is no air in the open lounge/kitchen/dining room but keeping the shutters open help to keep a breeze going through there. The caretaker and house keeper were incredibly friendly and helpful, I loved them coming round and spending time talking to them, they even taught me some local recipes. Overall we loved the apartment, it is a great base to explore the rest of the island. Most of the beachside villas/apartments are based on the main road up the west Coast of the island, so you have to put up with the traffic noise constantly, that is not the case in Atlantic Shores, you are away from the main road so it is lovely and quiet. One of the few beachside areas that is quiet and free from road noise. You just have the sounds of the waves, which are literally 20 feet from your bedroom window. There is a tiny little beach a two minute walk from the villa which is completely deserted, turn left out the front of villa and walk up the road til you see a little open grassy area - and the sea! - the beach is just beyond the grass. If you go out the back of the villa, where the sea is, and then take a left and walk along the rocks you will come to silver sands beach, which is also usually deserted. Miami beach is a short drive back towards Oistins, a nice beach with sunloungers and food van serving snacks and drinks. My only notes would be: Kitchen could do with some basic condiments for cooking, as we had to buy salt and pepper and olive oil. Otherwise it is very well stock with crockery. And the sun loungers could do with cushions as they are a bit uncomfortable to sit out on without them, although they are great quality. Avoid Chicken Rita's - we arrived late the first night and stumbled upon it by accident. We didn't return... We would certainly return to this apartment as it is great value for money and a much higher standard than other apartments in Barbados for the same money. I would definitely stay in Atlantic Shores again, it is only a short drive to wherever you want to go.

“An amazing apartment overlooking the Caribbean Sea”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2014

This apartment in the upmarket area of Atlantic Shores is very impressive in every way. It is very spacious, well equipped and overlooks the stunning Caribbean Sea from a very large balcony. It was so relaxing falling asleep and waking up to the sound and sight of the ocean from the master suite. We even saw turtles swimming from the balcony. Our family have stayed in Barbados many times over the years and Rosalie is the best of the bunch for a very reasonable price in a good location close to many outstanding beaches. I would recommend car hire to explore this stunning island. It is very professionally run and Diana, the housekeeper, was wonderful and looked after us very well. I would without hesitation recommend this apartment 100 per cent as it has everything one would wish for to make your holiday very special.

We stayed at Rosalie number 5 for our second trip to barbados. The location is excellent. Only about a 5 minute drive from Miami Beach and 2 minutes from Surfer's Bay beach bar. Jean was a total star. Very pleasant and helpful. She met us at the airport and was accessible and full of great advice. The apartment itself was very clean and incredibly well stocked. Coolers were provided to take to the beach which was awesome. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The rooms were gorgeous and spacious. And the view from the terrace was spectacular. We ate breakfast every morning looking out on the ocean. If there was one thing i could change, it would be to have a shower curtain around the lovely tub in the master en suite. But we just ended up using one of the other bathrooms. We had a wonderful time and will be returning next year!

“Excellent Value”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2013

We have stayed in Barbados every year for the last ten years but this was the first time we have based ourselves on the South Coast. Over the years we have stayed in more luxurious properties, and we have stayed in arguably more conveniently located ones, but Rosalie Number Five is without doubt the best value apartment we have stayed in. The apartment itself is very spacious, well equipped, and exactly as described if not better. The views are spectacular, and the only noise you can hear is that of the sea. A similar seafront location, in an apartment of this size and quality would be three or four times the price on the West Coast. Ok there is no beach right outside Rosalie, but there is a small one within 400m, and Miami beach (my personal favourite beach on the whole island, and that of my kids) is just 5 minutes in the car so this didn't really bother us (if it had we wouldn't have booked!). I would say a car is pretty much essential. You could walk to the beaches/shops if you were that way inclined, but a hire car makes everything so much more convenient. Southern Rentals (as recommended by the owner) sorted us out a motor within a couple of hours when we called him from the apartment on arrival, and at a competitive price. Another recommendation from the owner was "Steve's Bar" although I think it's official name is Surfers Bay Bar. Five minutes walk from the apartment, delightful laid back spot overlooking the sea, friendly staff, cheap-ish drinks (especially during Happy Hour) and decent simple food. A million miles away from some of the posher places on the island, and all the better for it. Finally the owner of the apartment (Simon) was very helpful, as were his representatives on the island. Everything was stress free and as described which is exactly what you want when on holiday. If you are looking for a place in the South of Barbados Rosalie Apartment 5 gets a big thumbs up from this very satisfied visitor.

Our family travelled to Barbados to attend a family wedding over Christmas. We have been on many family trips and this was voted hands down as the very best. The apartment itself is lovely and spacious and has spectacular views of the ocean. We enjoyed the pool every morning following our run along Seaside Drive. Our 19 year old son loved the surfing at South Point, just a short walk down the road. There is a lovely small beach a short walk away and Miami Beach is a little further (half hour walk) and extremely beautiful for swimming. We bought lots of fresh fish at the Fish Market in Oistins and learned the Bajan way of cooking it. The owner of the apartment and his on-site support team were absolutely fabulous in sharing information, making us feel welcome and ensuring our stay was perfect. We have never returned to the same vacation destination before but are already booked for a return visit to beautiful Barbados and Number 5 Rosalie!!!

“Stunning Accommodation in the most Perfect Location”

Reviewed 15 May 2012

The Holiday was the best I think I have EVER been on. The property is light, airy and beautiful. Set on the sea front we could watch the turtles swim by with a rum punch in hand whilst slowly watching the sunset colour the sky with the most beautiful colours. the location to the local fish fry, beaches and surfers bar were perfect from the apartment with either a short walk or car ride to get there. Though we had a car and found it very useful we also discovered that you can rent bikes (which is a lovely way to explore the island) or instead of hiring a car for the entire holiday you are given the option of hiring one for a day. Though we visited the rest of the island on our stay there was nothing better than returning to Atlantic shores and being so close to the restaurants, bars, clubs and beautiful beaches it had on offer. most definitely the perfect accommodation in the best position on the island. I am already planning my next trip and will hopefully stay in this beautiful apartment again. thank you
