Description

Hello,

We offer a very comfortable and homely double/triple (air-conditioned) room in a charming Bed & Breakfast in the southern suburbs of Athens. The room has an independent entrance as well as direct access to our beautiful garden where our guests can relax and enjoy the renowned Greek sun throughout their stay. In addition to the independent entrance, the room is also connected to the rest of the house and such facilities as the kitchen, dining room and living room with TV, DVD player and fireplace (for the chillier days) which our guests are welcome to use. The room has a private en-suite with shower and a private study/sitting room which can accommodate 1 more bed upon request. A fridge is also provided in the study/sitting room.

Our garden is perfect for quality time in the sun or under the shade of our citrus trees, perhaps relaxing in the hammock with one of our complimentary iced teas or coffees. There are also BBQ facilities available to use if you wish. Along with the many trees and flowers in the garden we have also grown one of the first urban farms in Athens!

A generous and delicious continental breakfast can be provided upon request (5 Euros per-person), and on warm days can be enjoyed out in the garden. Guests can also enjoy our home-grown (or from our local farmers market) and home-cooked produce for dinner at a cost of 12 Euros per-person which includes our organic, home-made wine. The meals vary depending on the season but we guarantee that they will always be healthy, plentiful and delicious.

We are located in the south suburbs of Athens providing easy access to the city centre (7-8 km) as well as the beautiful Athens coast (2-3 km) which is ideal for walks and bicycle-rides. A number of cafes, restaurants and bars can be found within a short 10 minute walk (0.5 km). We are also in close proximity (2-3 km) to:

* numerous beautiful beaches
* the Athens Golf Club
* the Go-Kart Centre
* the Agios Kosmas Olympic Complex
* Glyfada; the stylish shopping & entertainment centre of the south suburbs of Athens

Our Bed & Breakfast is ideal for people who want to enjoy both the historic centre of Athens along with the lesser known charms of the surrounding areas. We are happy to provide advice on and assistance with the organisation of fantastic day-trips to numerous historic, cultural and natural attractions in the surrounding areas of Athens (including nearby islands).

We always enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and being introduced to their culture. As an exchange, we hope to provide a fantastic stay in Athens for all of our guests with good-old style Greek hospitality.

Maika is a keen home-cook who likes to blend traditional Greek cooking with a modern twist. The seasonal produce from our veggie garden encourages her cooking experimentation with outstanding results. Guests in our B&B may get to enjoy complementary homemade treats such as our ice-cold organic lemonade, our bergamot liqueur, our seasonal jams, fruit and vegetable salads. It all depends on what's been cooked and the vibe of the day!

Besides any complementary treat there is the option to enjoy a generous and delicious breakfast and dinner while staying with us.

Breakfast with us (5 Euros per-person):

Our guests have the ability to have a hearty breakfast under the shade of the trees in our beautiful back garden. Our breakfast includes:

* Tea or Coffee
* Fresh sour-dough bread from our local baker (should try his desserts too)
* A selection of home-made jams/marmalades/honeys etc.
* Cereal/Muesli with milk
* An egg
* A cheese & ham toastie
* Fruit juice

Dinner with us (12 Euros per-person).

In the evening Maika lights up the garden with little candle lanterns making it the perfect spot to enjoy a warm Greek summer evening. Guests can have dinner on a private candle-lit table or join us on a larger table for some greet-style feasting! Our dinner includes:

* A selection of appetisers
* A main meal
* Salad and bread accompanying the main meal
* Dessert
* Plenty of our home-made organic wine

Many of the ingredients are sourced from our veggie patch, or through the produce of family and friends. As a result, the meals tend to be very seasonal. An example summer dinner would include:

* Cheese pasties, leek and bacon pasties and stuffed vine leaves (dolmades)
* Mousaka
* Greek salad and sour-dough bread
* Chilled white wine
* Semolina halva with Greek-yogurt cream

If you decide to try out our breakfast or dinner all we ask is to tell us a day in advance.
