Description

This luxurious two bedroom, 1 bathroom condo is located in the exclusive area of Kolonaki,

a stone's throw from the American Embassy, at the foot of Lycabettus hill which is the highest

point in Athens. It is a 5-10 minute walk in any direction from the shopping and business center

of the city, as well as being close to all of Athens' major sites.

The apartment which faces a park is ideally located on a very quiet street and is at

a 2 minute walk to the American embassy and a 5 minute walk to the Megaron

Mousikis metro station, which is on a straight line to and from the airport. It is ideal

for a couple with 1-3 children - crib provided , as it also has a large living room

and kitchen, along with a spacious veranda where you can enjoy your morning coffee, or

dinner while enjoying a view of the park. It is also priviledged for those who love walking

or jogging as Lycabettus hill with its grove is the best place to enjoy it in Athens any

time of the day or year.

A small church of saint George crowns the summit of Lycabettus Hill and slightly lower is an

open-air theatre, where concerts and musicals take place. Further you will find a café and a

restaurant. There is a funicular at the bottom of the hill (on Ploutarchou street) that takes you

to the top, but you can also drive up to the theatre. One may also choose to walk up to the top

of the hill. Whichever method of transport you choose you are rewarded with a spectacular

360˚ view of the city below plus the sparkling sea, especially on a clear day.

This apartment is 100 square meters big, and can comfortably accommodate four guests, with

a double queen-size bed, and a second bedroom with a double guest-bed sofa or two single beds.

It comes with linens and towels included, a fully equipped kitchen (microwave, toaster, coffee machine, oven), central heating

and air conditioning, washing machine, satellite HDTV, DVD/CD player, high-speed internet with Wi-fi and a state of the art alarm system.

At the same time you are at a 5´ to 10´ walk to Kolonaki square the most fashionable place in Athens and a major

meeting place for many Athenians, including the upscale residents, where people-watching is the main pass-time.

It also offers you exclusive shops, chic coffee shops and restaurants, the British council library, banks, embassies,

museums such as the Benaki Museum, with the most impressive collection of Mycenaean jewelry, Greek costumes

and memorabilia from the Greek Revolution as well as the Goulandris Museum of Cycladic and ancient Greek Art

which is one of the best museums in the city, and includes objects from the Cycladic civilization, pre-Minoan Bronze

Age and collections up to the Classical period.

This quiet neighborhood also offers fresh food markets, super markets, bakeries, a pharmacy, parking garage and

local restaurants. If you are planning to visit the ancient sites of Athens such as the Acropolis, the ancient Agora,

the temple of Olympian Zeus, the Kerameikos (ancient Greek cemetry) the ancient theatre of Dionysos, the new

Acropolis museum, plus the Plaka with its narrow streets and an abundance of shops and restaurants (tavernas),

you can reach there very easily by taking the metro until Syntagma square and change line to the Acropolis station.

The metro in Athens is a very safe and quick means of transportation.

No car is needed to explore Athens, but if you have brought one or rented one, parking is available at a small fee, just one block away.
