Description

Attractive old stone cottage refurbished to a very high standard nestles next to the church in the charming village of Fenny Bentley in the Peak National Park, just 3 miles north of Ashbourne.

Centrally heated throughout, plus a log burner in our cosy sitting room with TV/DVD, CD and radio. The stylish kitchen diner is well equipped and spacious and still retains its original flagstone floor. The ground floor bathroom has underfloor heating, bath with overhead shower, wash basin and toilet. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothing. Outside there is a traditional cottage garden, a small secluded sitting out area and secure garage. We keep 4 bikes for the use of our guests. There are 2 popular pubs serving food within easy walking distance. The Tissington Trail is close by as are numerous walks without the need for a car. The cottage is ideally situated for those wanting to explore all the attractions that Derbyshire and the Peak District have to offer such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Matlock Bath, Carsington Water, the caves at Castleton, the National Memorial Arboretum and the towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Buxton.

Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we do not do back-to-back stays, the cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before each stay and all linen is washed at a minimum of 60 degrees. Unfortunately we are unable to leave maps, books and games to remove any risk of infection.

We hope this gives you some peace of mind whilst staying at Yew Tree Cottage.

“Lovely get away”

Stayed 4 nights at Yew Tree Cottage Fenny Bently- Ashbourne. Cottage very quaint with a lovely mix of modern & old. The open plan kitchen diner made for nice meals together & the cosy living room with log burner was great to relax in. Nice modern bathroom downstairs with a good shower. 2 good size bedrooms upstairs liked how each available space was utilised for storage. No parking outside but a good lay-by up the Lane was not an issue & whilst we did not use them the owners had bikes available. There is road noise from the main road but isn’t really bother us. Good walks in the area & of course the Tissington Trail. Great place to feel away from it all.

A lovely traditional cottage close to Ashbourne. Very comfortable with everything you would need, including a wood burning stove which was great as the evenings drew in. We stayed for 10 nights and made the most of the many walking opportunities on the doorstep and beyond - Padley Gorge was our highlight, This was our first time in the Peak District - one of the most beautiful areas of England we have visited. Roger and Sally were great hosts - communication was clear and when we had one particular issue it was resolved immediately. Very highly recommended.

Beautifully maintained cottage with all you need. A perfect base for walking without need for the car to Tissington, Dovedale and beyond. Nice pub with good food just 5 mins walk away. Top tip: Take torches of some kind as the walk to the pub is along a very dark but busy road.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Roger and Sally (the owner) a message.

If Roger and Sally (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
