Description from owner

The Coachman's Cottage is a luxurious holiday rental. It has a 5 star Visit Britain rating. It is situated in the grounds of Ladyhole House, which is an Edwardian country house, located in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District. Set at the top o a sweeping drive, lined with mature chestnut trees and covered in a carpet of daffodils in the Spring, both the house and cottage are complemented by mature gardens and grounds with beautiful trees and a walled garden. The cottage itself is situated to the rear of the main house, and has its own attractive cottage garden. Converted from a bothy in 1995, it offers luxury accommodation, and boasts a 5 star rating with Visit Britain. Guests are welcome to enjoy all that the gardens offer, outdoor barbecues in the summer, an 'en tout cas' tennic court and croquet. For horse owners there are stables and grazing near to the cottage.

The inside is beautifully decorated, with each room having a distinct character, all in keeping with the era

The inside is beautifully decorated, with each room having a distinct character, all in keeping with the era of the cottage. However this year a new bathroom has been installed; the very latest in design.

Quiet countryside surround the house, where it is possible to walk and cycle, and yet Ashbourne, the local market town, is only two miles away.

Dogs are allowed, and wifi is available.

The cottage is ideal for families or couples who wish to visit the Peak District, and sample the country life.

The Derbyshire region

.

There is a lot to experience in Derbyshire, many ancestral homes such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick, and Kedleston. Endless walking and cycling along old railway tracks within the Peak District National Park. There are also the potteries nearby in Staffordshire. Equally there are the attractions of Alton Towers, Conkers, and many farms open to visitors.

Carsington Reservoir offers sailing and other water sports. Golf and fishing nearby.

Many, many local attractions advertised in the Ashbourne Tourist Centre.

Derbyshire also has its well known Well Dressings, which are worth seeing. Ashbourne, Buxton and Wirksworth have festivals during the summer.

Ashbourne

The Coachman's cottage is situated in quiet countryside, just south of the pretty market town of Ashbourne. It is surrounded by fields with sheep, and gambolling lambs in the spring. Visitors are amazed by the peace and tranquillity, and leave feeling refreshed and revitalised.

It is possible to walk or bicycle from the cottage along the country lanes, and the Shoulder of Mutton is only a couple of miles away.
