“Lovely cottage in rural location”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2017

Lovely week in a beautiful cottage set in a peaceful and relaxing location, but still close enough to amenities. Stunning views from the picture window in large master bedroom, second bedroom large and spacious too, both with plenty of storage. Well equipped bathroom. Large open plan living/dining room very welcoming and we loved having the open fire for those chilly autumn nights. Kitchen is compact but well equipped. Great sized garden for the dogs too. Sharu was very welcoming but totally discreet. A very enjoyable stay.

Owner's reply: Thank you Alison I’m so glad you had a well deserved break & relaxed week in the peaceful charms of Cumbria! Hope returning back to work wasn’t too bad. Sharu.

“Fantastic Cottage and location”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2017

Wonderful cottage ideally suited for pets. M6 close by so ideal to visit lakes / go for amazing walks. Quiet location so ideal to spend time with friends and family. Sharu is warm and friendly host who is always glad to help if need be. Thoroughly recommend it.

Owner's reply: Thankyou for your Review! It was great to have you and your family stay with us. WE still miss your lovely dog!! Many Thanks.

“Charming cottage”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2017

The cottage is charming and as described on the site. The only disadvantage is that the lane up to the house is very rutted with potholes and the entrance to the lane is quite tricky on entry and exit.

Owner's reply: Thankyou for your Review. Apologies for the potholes on the drive worsened by the building works taking place next door. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the facilities.

“Fantastic location for quiet week away”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2014

A friend and I decided we wanted to start 2014 with some r&r, we found Chapel House cottage and our plan was set! Booking was simple and Sharu was always prompt in her responses to questions which was great. The cottage itself was lovely, bedrooms were stunning and house was stocked with pretty much everything you would need (other than a DVD player which would be a good addition) The only comments we would make in terms of improvements would be some signage to find the cottage as that was a struggle ons arrival and a couple of tines during our trip we missed the opening! Also the WiFi wasn't great and definitely couldn't be relied upon if you were planning to work or stream media etc. Overall we would give chapel house 4.5 out of 5 and we are looking forward to goi g back in the Spring.

Owner's reply: Hi Rachel, Thanks for your review. The Directions sheet to the cottage explains the exact location with a map. Also normally I get people to key in the postcode in their satnav which brings them straight to the cottage. We have not experienced this issue with other guests so far, however we will try to make the signage more visible and also look into the request for a DVD. Great idea ! Thanks. As for the wifi, we have been experiencing some problems with the BT wifi since christmas, it has been notified to BT now. Hopefully it will get rectified soon. Thanks again and hope to see you in the spring again, Kind Regards, Sharu.

“Lovely Views ,Beautiful Cottage”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2013

We have just spent a week at this lovely cottage, Sharu was a pleasure to correspond with and made sure everything we required was in place. The cottage was lovely, nice and clean with every thing you need ,the views from the bedroom bay window are great, my grandchildren loved running around in the garden with our little dog. Not to far to travel if you fancy visiting the lakes, and if you dont fancy cooking there is a nice pub just up the road that does lovely food and make you very welcome . We will certainly go back again.

Owner's reply: Maureen - That is lovely, Thankyou ! and I would love to see you here again. Your Most Welcome ! -Sharu.

“Perfect setting for a short break in a great location with amazing sunsets”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

The cottage is in a great location with easy access to the peaceful Eden Valley which is great for cycling & away from the crowded Lake District Roads. Great pubs nearby in Cotehill, Armathwaite & Wetheral. Lake Ullswater only a 20 minute drive away. We had lovely dinners outside sat on the patio with lovely sunsets. The cottage had everything we needed and was spacious and well laid out. Overall a very peaceful place to spend a few days in a beautiful countryside setting.

Owner's reply: Hello Hetta - Thankyou so much for your lovely review. Im so glad you found the cottage to be just what you were looking for in the Eden Valley. Please do visit again. Many Thanks, Sharu.
