Argeles sur Mer on the beautiful Cote Vermeille has stunning views of Pic Canigou and the eastern end of the Pyrennees, known as Les Alberes, tumbling down into the Mediterranean sea.

Enjoy Blue Flag beaches, scenic walks and amazing scenerey

This is a unique and dramatic region in the far south of France, offering traditional seaside activities, such as swimming, sailing or windsurfing, yet with ski stations in easy reach! Or try l the local markets, festivals, food, music, wine, chateaux and vineyards

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, and summer temperatures up to the 40's the climate really is conducive to the holiday atmosphere. As part of Catalonia, this area was ceded to France by Spain in the 17th century. The local place names and cuisine still show these diverse influences.

Argeles Plage

Argeles Sur Mer is a classic French coastal holiday resort. Very popular with French families, Argeles retains it's local ambience whilst handling the seasonal holiday makers who flock to this popular stretch of coastline.

The diverse and distinct local districts cater for all tastes from the family friendly beaches of Argeles Plage, the water parks, the bustling markets, the stylish and exclusive feel of the port and marina areas and a short distance inland, Argeles town with it's excellent shops and restaurants and colourful traditional village houses and historical buildings.

“Argeles is great for children”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2013

We had a wonderful time in Argeles. There is so much for children to do, beach, waterpark, traveling circuses, bouncy castles etc. Our five year old son loved it. A rental car is a must and the beautiful village Coulier and Figueres in Spain (Salvador Dali museum) was enjoyed by the parents. The apartment is at a good location close walk to the beach (where we spent most of the time) and with a few shops and restaurants close by, but not too close to the busy city centre. The beach was not very crowded in middle of July. However as the apartment is very small, bringing more than one child might not be recommended. You can prepare basic meals in the kitchen and the road outside can be slightly noisy. The apartment is on the top floor. The apartment and house was nice and clean and the owners were very helpful and provided clean linen and some beach equipment which was very useful. Many thanks

Thank you guest Our little apartment is advertised as comfortable for two guests,( a couple or friends travelling together) rather than a family, although there is a daybed for a third person. We are happy to supply a travel cot if the third guest is a little person but please be clear that, like many older French apartment buildings, there are steps to negotiate!

“Lovely apartment”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2013

Apartment is located well, only a short walk to shops and beach and the local train/bus stops across the road. The apartment is small but it has all you need and an ideal base to explore the area. It was very clean and tidy with fresh bedding and towels provided for our second week. All communication with the owners was prompt and first class.

“Great little bijou residence”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2011

The apartment was perfect for me and my girlfriend - a great little place to relax. It is literally a few minutes' walk from the beach and you can walk to Argeles town or the port in about 30 minutes. Collioure is definitely worth a visit if you have a car. The welcome pack was great and directions were really easy to follow. The owners kept in regular contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Their local contact also paid us a visit during the week to check things were OK. Useful tip: you will probably want to sleep with the windows open and the road can be noisy so take ear plugs!

Thanks for your feedback-Yes it's true that in common with other properties in the Argeles beach area the streets outside the apartment can be noisy in July & August as the population increases tenfold! We hope to install a wall fan in the bedroom for next season so our guests won't need to leave the windows wide open.
