Description

This is an ideal setting for a family holiday but also for singles, couples, and groups; an ideal place for workshops and retreats.

Why not try painting, bird watching, walking, fishing and more.

During the summer months we have a rowing boat permanently moored on the lake and we are also able to provide excursions in our sailing boat.

We also have hybrid mountain bicycles (21 gear) for hire.

Taste the local wines and cuisine and enjoy nearby facilities which include horse riding, canoeing, ski-ing, golf and go-kart racing, etc.

You will be spoilt for choice with the selection of destinations to enjoy on your trips out which can include the University City of Coimbra (for shoppers and lovers of architecture), the broad white sandy beaches of the western coast and, to the east, the highest mountains in Portugal at Serra da Estrela.

If you prefer to relax at home, you can take in the views from the salt water swimming pool and heated jacuzzi on the patio. Then, after a relaxing barbeque, you can sit and enjoy the unrivalled sunset over the lake.

Your holiday villa in Portugal comprises 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room.

1 twin bedroom which can be converted into a kingsize bed with a separate bathroom.

A large lounge with a wood burner can be used as a double bedroom using the double sofa bed.

We have a large farmhouse kitchen/dining room.

The upper level of the holiday villa is open plan and can be converted into a sleeping area with 2 single beds or 1 double sofa bed with clothes hanging facilities.

Both floors of the holiday villa have shaded balconies with lake views.

The villa has a large barbeque which is situated near an area shaded by a gazebo with a private salt water swimming pool.

Fabulous stay in this beautiful villa set amid the fragrant eucalyptus and pine trees with Wonderful views. Geoff and Linda gave us a lovely warm welcome. The Villa was beautifully presented, clean and fully equipped. Lots to see and do for all the family from chilling by the pool with a good book or rowing down the river and fishing. Fully recommend staying here and would love to return.

We have stayed at this wonderful property several times now and each time the beauty of the area hits us. The rolling hills and terraced valleys, the scented smells in the fresh air, the stillness and silence. You drive down a well maintained track to the villa where you are warmly met by the owners Geoff and Linn, who spare no effort to make your stay faultless, The first glimpse of the villa, which is set on top of a mature wooded terraced valley that leads down to the lake edge, is beautiful. When you walk into the villa you will find an uncluttered, simply furnished, well stocked and spotlessly clean space. As you walk into the large kitchen area you find a large bowl of fruit sitting on top of a long dining table. At the far end of the kitchen you open double doors that lead onto the veranda and the stunning view of the valley and lake, and again the silence and tranquillity hit you. To wake up in the morning and sit here with your cup of tea, listening to the birds and breathing in the oh so fresh air, is the greatest way to start any day. You will probably be visited as you sit there by Bob and Cleo,,Geoff and Lin's dogs, who come and say hello gently and are more than happy to just sit there with you looking over the view. As you walk round the veranda to the other side you will find the pool/sunbathing area which has full sun for most of the day. Geoff and Lin have provided tools for enjoyment for your stay, various types of boats for the lake, bikes, fishing rods and pool toys for adults and children!. They are always on hand if you need them as their little house is the other side of the valley although you wouldn't know it as it is well hidden by trees. We never tire of the scenery with so much wild life and bird song,( I woke one night to the wonderful song of a nightjar), and always find it so hard to leave. There is no way that you cannot feel re-invigorated after your stay here. Our only complaint? That we weren't there for a month!

“A little piece of heaven”

This house is a little well hidden pearl. It is private and tranquil with a lovely view and lots of cozy spots in and out of the sun. Our children loved the gated pool, which was cleaned several times during the week, and I enjoyed daily walks/runs along the river. The house is well equipped and well maintained and more than lived up to our expectations. The owners Linda and Geoff were very kind and helpful with tips and good ideas for towns and places to visit. On the down side the house is a bit far from the nearest supermarket. About 15-20 minutes drive. But the village Arganil is very nice, so often we made a trip out of it. And there is no wifi, satelite tv or the possibility of hooking up your ipad to watch downloaded movies at the house. Instead we found wifi at cafes/restaurants and watched downloaded movies on the ipad. I would definitely recommend this house! It is among our top vacations so far. It was just a lovely and very easy vacation place. And the owners let us walk their two very friendly and playful dogs, which also made the house our childrens favourite so far.
