Location description from owner

The Lochaber region

World-renowned for their Scenic beauty, the Scottish Highlands offer unsurpassed touring, mountains, lochs, glens, wildlife sightings and much more! The beauty of this part of the world is the peacefulness, clean air and the friendly people. Although The Scottish Highlands does experiences high levels of rainfall, it really isn't expected to top up your tan on a holiday here! However, the months of April, May, June, September and October usually expect better weather. During the months of December, January and February there is often snow on the mountains and often at lower levels.

Ardgour

Situated on the Stunning West Coast of Scotland, Ardnamurchan is a long, narrow peninsula along the shores of Loch Sunart and includes the most westerly tip of the British Mainland. Kingairloch is actually on the Morvern peninsula which flanks the other side of Loch Sunart and the sound of Mull. The name is derived from the Gaelic, Mhorbhairn, meaning Sea-Gap. A visit to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse located on the most westerly tip of the British Mainland is well worth a trip, the views of the Atlantic are quite amazing. There are numerous sea tour operators that take visitors for day trips to explore the local coastline, a trip to Fingals Cave on Staffa is very special. The Isle of Mull is only a short drive away and is home to the famous town of Tobermory, Sea Eagles and fantasitc beaches. Visitors can catch the ferry from Lochaline and enjoy a fantastic day out.

“Perfect holidays with amazing suroundings and views !”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2014

We were 9 persons in the estate and we loved it from the very beginning. The views and the suroundigs are amazong but you have to know that you are far away from every town (average 1 hour to Fort William by ferry). It is an excellent house for large families or group of friends who enjoy nature and having nice and quiet holidays.

“A world away from the rat race!”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2014

Superb renovation of old farm steading into comfortable, well equipped holiday home. Recently returned from a weeks stay at The Steadings with friends and family and can whole heartedly recommend accommodation on offer. If you want somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is it, a lovely peaceful part of the world, with stunning scenery and wildlife. Great house in a brilliant location. Proximity of hills around house meant that mobile coverage was a bit hit and miss (walk 5 mins down road and it's fine) we saw this as a definite advantage!!!

“Superb family get away.”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

I spent a long time looking for somewhere that could accommodate three couples and an aged grandfather; The Steadings was the perfect location for a weekend away with the extended family. The cottage was beautifully decorated and it was fantastic to all have our own bathrooms. The communal spaces were also well equip and the open kitchen dining area allowed me to cook and socialise at the same time. The estate is a fantastic escape from busy life: great walks and our meal at The Boathouse was perfectly. Only slight suggestion would be a wee welcome gift as sometime is seen in 4 star properties: some biscuits or cake would have been the perfect finishing touch. We will definitely be back.
