Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Craignish Peninsula is well known for its spectacular scenery and the effects of the Gulf Stream leading to a milder climate and the tidal races of the Dorus Mhor (The Great Door) where the first steam ship, The Comet, sank. These tidal waters lead to the Correyvreckan Whirlpool which one of the largest whirlpools in the Northern hemisphere which can be seen from Aird.

The village of Ardfern is 3 miles from the cottage and has an excellent village shop with post office, craft shop / caf and hotel. Kilmartin Standing Stones and Museum, Arduaine Gardens, Sailing School and Horse Riding at Craobh Haven. Boat trips from Ardfern and Craobh Haven are all within a short distance.
