Our cottage is ideally situated in one of the narrow streets in the old part of Appledore, and a few seconds walk from the Quay and local shops. It is a typical fisherman's cottage that has been modernised and now is a cosy and comfortable holiday home. We use it ourselves regularly with my husband being a keen golfer he enjoys the local golf course just a mile away.

Self-catering is made as easy as possible with a small supermarket and fantastic delicatessen just along the Quay as well as large Morrisons in Bideford. If local fish and chips is your thing we have two both within a minutes walk. There are also excellent tearooms just around the corner in Market Street as well as pubs with bar and restaurant food within a very short walk. Pets welcome, Appledore is heaven for dogs with walks along the coast accessible from the cottage.

Oak flooring through out, attractive brick fireplace with electric fire, flat screen TV., DVD player, Mini HiFi including Ipod doc, books and games.
Stable doors to sunny private courtyard with table and chairs.

Booked cottage at very short notice for ourselves and 2 grandchildren 11 and 12. Cottage was advertised as having wi fi internet important to kids who are always using tablets. After sending payment received invoice and further details from the owner and was told the cottage did not have internet access. Was a little worried as mother in law poorly and needed to keep in touch but could always get in touch on phone and out and about. All in all cottage was in a perfect area and could have been very good if cleaning was carried out to a better standard. Bags of rubbish left out in front of back door, Dyson full to capacity and left in wardrobe all crockery cutlery needed washing before use. Little back yard was very handy to sit and chill with morning cuppa or late night wine but would have been much nicer without weeds ( wouldn't have taken ten minutes to do ) However we didn't let these things spoil 3 lovely days away despite not even being able to use our mobile data or even make/receive calls. What really disappointed and angered us though, was on checking we had everything upon leaving, we found plugged in and fully working wi fi router HIDDEN under wardrobe in main bedroom which we checked and all logged on to with no problems at all! Very very angry and feel cheated. Why would they do this?

This was our first trip away with out dog (he's 4). We didn't know how he'd react away from home so only booked 3 nights. We wish we booked more. Comfortable cottage with all you could need. Very easy to find great location. Hope to return soon!

“Cosy cottage in the heart of Appledore”

We spent 3 nights at Sinbad Cottage and had a wonderful time. It's a cute fishermans terrace cottage right in the centre of Appledore. Everything you need for a good holiday is close by: tea rooms, a restaurant, pubs, the seafront. The cottage was in a quiet location. We used the electric fire in the front room in the evening but didn't need to use the central heating. The cottage was clean and included lovely fluffy towels and good bedding. The bathroom has a great shower and a bath. There was some tea bags, coffee sachets and cleaning materials which was handy. There was good equipment in the kitchen so cooking meals was easy. There wasn't any salt and pepper in the shakers so bring some with you. There is a lovely deli and shop on the seafront called Johns. We did our main shop in Morrisons at Biddeford. We had worried about parking but we found free parking on the seafront every day and a huge car park is just a 5 minute walk but we didn't need to use it. Our 2 doggies loved their stay, everywhere is dog friendly so no problems taking them out and about. We had a lovely meal at the Beaver Inn and great fish and chips from Sylvesters, we also went to the Seagate a few times for a drink. Appledore is very chilled out and friendly. We hope to be back soon and would definitely stay at Sinbad Cottage again.

“A great little cottage in an excellent location”

This is the second time this year we have holidayed in Appledore which underlines how much we like this charming quayside town in North Devon. The location of Sinbad Cottage is in the heart of the town, and just a stones throw from the quay, restaurant pubs and shops. The property is well appointed, very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner allows pets and the location of Appledore is a dogs dream with stunning beaches at Instow, Westward Ho and Saunton Sands all close by. The Burrows is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away and is an ideal place to enjoy for the dogs or to just marvel at the local scenery. For golfers the North Devon GC is nearby. All in all this part of North Devon had so much to offer and enjoy with Sinbad Cottage offering the perfect place to stay. We found it more than capable of being home for 4 adults, a young grandchild and two dogs for the week and would certainly recommend it to others.

Stayed at sinbad cottage for 4 days over the Xmas period as my mum lives in Appledore. We have stayed in several apartments in Appledore. Sinbad cottage is very quaint however feel is missing some home comforts such as a TV upstairs and the double mattress very uncomfortable. The central heating was wonderful and is a very cosy on a winters day. The cottage was always warm. There was only the two of us and feel it would be very cramped if four people were too stay. Has everything you need for a stay except could not find a tin opener anywhere. Overall a lovely stay despite being very small.

Sinbad cottage was ideal for myself,my husband and our two small dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was cosy, however , there is a steep staircase to the bedrooms . The main bedroom was comfortable and quiet. The cottage provided an excellent base for exploring the area , both on foot and by car. We easily found parking in the large car park on the quay and paid for the week as there was no parking outside the property. However, this car park is only a short walk from Sinbad cottage and we were able to drop our luggage off near the cottage on arrival. It was such a relaxing holiday we will definitely be returning
