“Wonderful pet friendly accommodation.”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2016

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a weekend get away and we're very impressed. My 4 year old little boy wanted to move in! It's very well kitted out, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed was super comfy, so had a great sleep It has beautiful views of the estuary, and lovely walks on the beach, which our dog loved! We had excellent communication with the owner. She let us know the best places to eat, and had a great knowledge of the area. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

Thanks jo. For a lovely review, I'd love to welcome your family back any time,, , hope you enjoy your visit to see santa on your way home, ,best wishes Jan

Excellent accommodation, spacious kitchen and living room, with balcony, where we enjoyed exquisite views of the river torridge and surrounding countryside, the accommodation was warm clean and welcoming. With instant access to the river torridge for my kayak and jet ski activities. Adequate parking, and are hoping to return next year with my disabled relative who will be able to make use of the disabled access to the flat below. Many thanks for a wonderful break.

I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay,, and that the tide was in when you arrived early so you were able to launch,, your kyak s from the garden,, and come and go, with your family making the most of the close proximity to the river, and the barbecue in the garden, please tell your friends and come back any time,,, both flats are ideal for a large group or family, !! “The Boat Yard - The Holiday Let on an Industrial Estate”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2016

The photo's advertising this holiday do not show the whole scene to include the large hangar to the left & rusting gantry & slip way to the right, which have been cut out. The Boat Yard is one of a row of just 6 houses on a run down industrial estate. A meet time of 2.00pm was arranged with the owner who did not show up, & we had to call her & were given the code for the key safe to gain entry. The maisonette is noted as not suitable for wheelchairs, however it should also be noted as not suitable for older persons or young children as there is a very steep staircase to gain access. The property is "basic & staid" with a mixture of used and old furniture, some of which was well used and/or broken, it was fairly clean. There are no amenities, pubs etc: in the area, just a junk yard with broken down boats, lorries etc:overlooked by the bedrooms. There are no amenities & you have to drive out to find them. Having spent almost 50 years holidaying in the West Country this was the worst place we had ever rented & certainly not worth the rental requested. We booked for a week & left after 3 nights.

I have had no booking from a Mary marchant, so who ever you are, , the photos certainly haven't been doctored, as on my ad it says visited by trip adviser, and yes they send there representative to properties, at the owners request and take photos,,, and there's certainly nothing cut out, ,, as for suitable for wheel chair access,, this property is not,,, I do have another the boat yard slip way,,, on the ground floor, with wheel chair access, ,,,, so who ever you are, I think you need two get some facts straight, , because the people that actually stay at my property love it, ,!!!

“Fantastic views, very comfortable &[--] great location for touring”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2012

We had a wonderful week in Jan's flat in Appledore in October. Jan was extremely helpful and showed us the way to the flat. The views from the flat over the River Torridge are stunning and ever changing with the tides coming in and out; you could sit there for hours just watching! The flat is very comfortable and in a great location for touring the area; we visited Westward Ho!, Ilfracombe, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, Exeter, Barnstaple, Hartland Quay & Bude - all beautiful and within easy reach. It was lovely to come back to this welcoming flat in it's peaceful location at the end of each day! The wifi & satellite tv were real bonuses too! Very much recommended; thank you Jan!! :-)
