GANNET’S NEST in the picturesque fishing village of Appledore is the ideal location for exploring the North Devon coast. Book a fishing trip, go crabbing on the Quay, take a leisurely stroll exploring the maze of narrow streets and enjoy browsing through the art galleries and craft shops. For the more adventurous, 5 minutes away by car is Westward Ho! where there is surfing, kite surfing and body-boarding. The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail cycle path are both easily accessible from the cottage. GANNET’S NEST is an attractive 2-bedroomed Victorian fisherman's cottage arranged over 3 floors in Appledore. The cottage frontage is directly onto the estuary and has both a terrace and a balcony with an unparalleled vista overlooking the water.

This cosy country cottage kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and dining table and chairs is well-kitted and perfect for entertaining.There is a utility room with washing machine, microwave and small freezer on the lower ground floor.

BEDROOMS

Attractive master bedroom which overlooks the estuary and has ample storage. The second bedroom, full of character and nautical themes is a twin-bedded room. Both bedrooms are on the first floor.

BATHROOMS

Lower Ground Floor: WC and hand basin.

First Floor: There is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle.

OUTDOORS

There is both a Terrace on the Lower Ground Floor and a large Balcony on the 1st floor, with table chairs and parasol; perfect for enjoying a sunset, watching boats or enjoying al fresco dining.

WALK TO – Nestled in the centre of Appledore within a labyrinth of narrow streets and is only a short stroll to the bustling quayside, restaurants, pubs, galleries and Maritime Museum.An ideal location for enjoying the many attractions North Devon has to offer, you will be a short drive to The Big Sheep, RHS Rosemoor Garden, the National Trust property Arlington Court, Clovelly and much more. Walkers can enjoy coastal walks from the property and the 2 miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho! is less than a 20 minute walk. There is also a choice of leisure facilities close by including riding, tennis, golf, swimming, fishing and more. In the evenings, sample one of the six pubs in Appledore, most serving good food.CYCLE TO - The charming fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, as well as the town of Bideford and Barnstaple. The Tarka Trail is a series of footpaths and cycle-paths around north Devon with over 30 miles of the Tarka Trail available to cyclists between Braunton and Meeth, using the old railways of North Devon.DRIVE TO - The surrounding area has much to offer. Within driving distance is Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre, Tapeley Park, Instow, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, The Milky Way adventure park and the historic market town of Bideford with its open-air and pannier markets. Just a short hop over the Torridge is the large market town of Barnstaple with all high street conveniences, cinema, theatre, museums, and pannier market.
