“Superb property in a beautiful town”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2017

The fine reviews this property has received in the past are no exaggeration. A wonderfully presented property in a fine location on the edge of a beautiful town. The owners Jane and David are friendly, caring and helpful to a degree that goes beyond the bounds of duty. Casa Antequera provides everything a group of 4 people needs (5 at a push?) be it family or friends (as there is a doulble bed I guess it would have to be close friends) on a holiday. I would be perfectly happy to live there permanently. We rented the property to explore Antequera and its surrounds but this demands reasonable fitness levels s some of the hills in the town are quite challenging. We didn’t hire a car and relied on the local taxis to visit el refugio de burrito, el torcal de antequera and lobo park. Antequera is famed for its dolmens, moorish castle and churches but also has a very fine museum. S with all the towns and villages in Andalucia it is populated by charming, friendly and very helpul people. Antequera is rightly known as the crossroads of Andalucia and most people who stay hire a car as many of the most famous and beautiful sights and sounds of spain are a day trip away; including Ronda, the Alhambra, Cordoba, Sevilla, Jerez and the beaches of the Costa del Sol. A property and location that is highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Hello and thank you so much for this lovely review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay so much and found the property so comfortable. Please do not hesitate to visit us again as soon as you can. We look forward to welcoming you back.

“Well- presented and equipped accomodation on the outskirts of an interesting and lively Spanish town.”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2017

My husband and I had a great time based at Casa Antequera for one week just before Christmas. It was the ideal base for exploring the surrounding area with easy access out of town and to the countryside, including El Torcal, while also being within walking distance of shops and restaurants down in the town centre. We enjoyed the festive lights, the late evening hustle and bustle and the carols. There's a steep hill to climb to get back but if you need to use a car there's a free car park just a few yards from the front door. The efficient wood burner kept us cosy during the cooler winter evenings, and we found plenty to keep us away from home during the day but we have to say that, if you're the stay at home type, there's very limited outside space at the property for enjoying the sun on warm days. All the rooms are on one level (street level), and the accommodation is completely self-contained and separate from the home in the same building of the lovely British owner. Jane is the perfect host: she's ready and very willing to help in any way if needed but otherwise stays out of the way, leaving her guests to enjoy their holiday as they see fit.

Owner's reply: Dear Heather Thank you so much for your lovely review, you made me blush. We are very pleased you had a great time here at Casa Antequera and were happy and comfortable in your accommodation. This is imperative to us. Yes, we are lucky to have the balcony where you can sit and eat or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, but more space to lie down would beneficial for sun worshipers. We are blessed however with guests like yourselves who enjoy a more cultured experience and what Antequera has to offer. I'm pleased you found the log burner enjoyable and efficient, we choose very carefully to get the best quality and warmest one we could for that room, to heat the whole house and function with prestige. Please do not hesitate to 'like' us and 'share' on Facebook. We look forward to hopefully welcoming you again very soon for another visit here to Casa Antequera. Kind regards Jane and David

“A comfortable, clean and spacious apartment in a quiet, charming town”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2016

We had a great stay at Jane and Dave's apartment in Antequera for a week in February, 2016. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped, with everything we needed. Jane and Dave were very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't have the best of weather, we still enjoyed exploring Andalusia. At least we left the snow behind in Canada. The newly installed fireplace kept us cozy and warm! We'd recommend Casa Antequera to everyone.

Owner's reply: Hello Richard and Christa Thank you taking time to give us your lovely review. We very much enjoyed welcoming you here as guests and hope you can visit again very soon. We so wished the weather could have been better for you but are pleased to hear you enjoyed our log burner. Kind regards Jane and Dave
