Description

Located in a quiet, residential street in the very heart of the Jordaan, DB's is a Home Away from Home: not far from Central Station, close to bars, restaurants, the Monday textile and Saturday food/farmers markets and many tourist attractions. The Jordaan is the oldest area of Amsterdam, full of history, interesting architecture, and a great variety of shops.

The Jordaan is well known for its special atmosphere, local cafes/bars and many styles of restaurants. The best Dutch apple cake is just around the corner. Enjoy the local scenery and return to your Home Away from Home.

DB's is actually a spacious and cosy one-bedroom apartment. The bedroom comprises a twin/double bed, TV/DvD, and adjoining luxury bathroom. A top mattress creates a very comfortable double bed and the bed can be separated to form a twin. There are two comfortable, foldout beds in the living room, suitable for our younger guests. A baby cot is also available.

Amsterdam

The Jordaan area of Amsterdam offers a real flavour of the city. It is a residential area with points of local history, and a choice of shops (super)markets, restaurants and cafés. See the different styles of architecture and visit the "Hofjes", hidden behind the streets. Enjoy a reasonably priced meal at one of the café restaurants, or take out an excellent Indonesian meal, or book at table at one of the many restaurants, all within a short walk. The "Nine Streets" district is a short walk where you can visit a great variety of shops featuring local designs.

“Great Apartment”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

Stairs are rather step for anyone with mobility issues. That said we had a wonderful stay. Our host was very helpful, gave us useful tips. Location excellent, just far enough from the main throng, in a great local residential area with Bars, Restaurants and Supermarkets on tap. But still only 10 minute walk to main attractions. We had a really great stay and I would not hesitate in recommending.

Thank you for the kind review. In comparison with most staircases in the Jordaan, this one is actually "friendly", straight and only 16 steps. I hope you will come again.

“Perfect, spacious, & modern apartment in a great location”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2015

The apartment was booked and paid for with ease, and with the correct amount of information and offer of more if required. From the moment we arrived Diane offered us a warm welcome to the lovely apartment. Its bigger than it looks in the pics, and is very nicely decorated, spacious but cosy for a couples holiday. The location was nice and close to two supermarkets, the brilliant Saturday market, and a variety of excellent bars and restaurants. Having the fridge stocked with goodies & other useful supplies, including the lovely coffee, is a definite bonus, and much appreciated. Like most people we will be returning to Amsterdam, again, and would definitely consider Diane's apartment. Very good value for money. Thanks
