Grove Farmhouse makes for a fantastic base for family gatherings and larger groups. We also offer short breaks during the off-peak seasons - perfect for weekends away with friends! Visit England 4 star Gold rating. Book online through our own website.

The house gives everyone plenty of space to do their own thing, and yet has a terrific homely ambience which is hard to beat. There are a wealth of period features and the house has an air of quirky charm, although modern-day conveniences have not been neglected either. The provision of solid wood furniture, luxurious sofas and beds, quality fixtures and fittings all work together to make Grove Farmhouse simply one of the nicest places to spend some time. Factor in the amazing location and spectacular views in all directions and you have a winner in every respect!

Location description from owner

The Lake District

The Lake District - from dramatic fells to sleepy shores, this is nature at its most inventive. With England's five tallest mountains and deepest lake, two national parks, three areas of outstanding natural beauty and a wealth of flora and fauna, Cumbria's rich natural environment is simply unique. The landscape is a real wonder of nature. Impressive peaks rise grandly, reflected in still waters. At their feet, intriguing valleys lie waiting to be explored.

There is also a social landscape to explore that has been formed over thousands of years and continues to be shaped by modern culture. From poignant ruins and drover trails to local legends and literary works, the region's history and heritage has played a defining role in the county's identity. But in recent years, another dimension has been added to Cumbria's unique personality in the form of contemporary theatre and dance, street art and state of the art galleries .

Ambleside

Ambleside, at the head of Windermere and the foot of the Kirkstone Pass, is in the very heart of the Lake District with easy access to Grasmere, Keswick, Windermere and the Langdales.
